A Winnebago County judge sentenced 34-year-old Larry Bentley to 180 days in jail and 30 months of probation for one count of child endangerment involving death.

Investigators charged both Bentley and the mother of Tahlia Vuttera, 34-year-old Jessica Stuckey after the toddler died in December of 2013.

Stuckey pleaded guilty last year to child endangerment involving death. She was sentenced to 180 days in jail followed by 30 months of probation.

A Rockford mother and a man are facing serious charges in connection to the 2013 death of a 2-year-old girl.

Jessica Stuckey and Larry Bentley II were arrested on several charges related to child abuse.

Stuckey's 2-year-old daughter Tahlia died suddenly in 2013. Winnebago County Coroner Sue Fiduccia says the little girl had internal and external injuries, however, it's not clear what actually caused her death.

A doctor's report shows bruises on Tahlia's body may have been accidental but could be linked to abuse.

It's taken years for the charges to surface because investigators were waiting on results.
