Lafayette County, Missouri, Circuit Court records filed on Tuesday, March 25, indicate that Angela N. Kelley, 34, has been charged with felony child abuse after three children were found living in what were considered to be “deplorable conditions.”
When first responders arrived, they said they found caseworkers and observed the home to be in “astounding disarray.” A strong odor of feces and urine permeated the home. Days-old feces, trash and food scraps were scattered throughout the house. Feces was even found in one of the children’s hair.
Investigators noted that alternate care was found for the three children who lived in the home as they felt the conditions to be hazardous to the children’s health.
As a result, Kelley, who had been responsible for the children’s care, was charged with a single count of child abuse on Tuesday.
