A 28-year-old Muncie man allegedly “known for selling kids for dope” is facing felony charges after allegedly attempting to sell a 16-year-old girl.

Anthony Franko-Smith has been charged with promotion of child sex trafficking, criminal confinement and possession of a narcotic drug, as well as four misdemeanors.

Over the weekend, police responded to reports of a disturbance, according to the Marion Police Department. When they arrived, they spoke with the teen, who had fresh cuts on her face.

The girl told police Franko-Smith would not let her out of the car by grabbing her legs and that she believed he was planning to sell her for crack cocaine. She said Franko-Smith became mad when she wanted to go back to Muncie but said he would taker her back if she agreed to have sex with him.
