An Endicott woman who was found guilty of fracturing a 3-year-old child's skull has been sentenced to three years in state prison, according the Broome County Court Clerk's Office.
Danielle Agosto, 26, will also serve three years of post-release supervision.
Agosto initially told authorities the child's injury was an accident, but prosecutors argued she intentionally caused the boy's "serious physical injury" while he was in her care on Oct. 30, 2017.
The boy's father was Agosto's boyfriend, and the injury was discovered after she'd returned him to his mother that afternoon.
Agosto was arrested by the Endicott police in November of 2017. She pleaded guilty in October 2018 to second-degree assault, in exchange for up to two years in prison, but she was allowed to withdraw her plea and take the case to trial.
