Sword said McCurry smothered daughter Lily Mynatt in February 2006 by rolling over on the newborn in her sleep. That death was ruled accidental, and McCurry was warned of the dangers of allowing a baby to sleep with her in her bed, he said.
In October 2007, McCurry phoned 911 with a claim that baby Jaden had stopped breathing after being placed in a swing by her mother, Sword said. She later phoned authorities to confess that her mother had awakened her after discovering McCurry atop the baby in bed, he said.
"An autopsy showed the victim died from asphyxiation from smothering," Sword told the judge.
McCurry had a third baby, but that child was removed from her custody by the state Department of Children's Services, according to prior court testimony.
Records filed in the case indicate McCurry suffers a slew of mental health woes and a possible sleeping disorder.
