The man accused of murdering two men after luring them to a remote area of San Mateo County made his first court appearance on Monday.
Investigators also announced they are looking into the possibility the suspect may have recently tried to lure other tow truck drivers to the same area.

Prosecutors said when 32-year-old taxi driver Abdul Malik Nasher went to pick up a passenger near Skyline Boulevard last Monday he was stabbed to death.

Malik Dosouqi, 26, is also accused of luring tow truck driver John Pekipaki to the same area off Skyline Boulevard hours later and stabbing him to death.

Dosouqi was seen in court wearing a cast on his arm. Prosecutors believe one of the victims may have broken Dosouqi's arm while fighting for his life. The suspect did not enter a plea on Monday.

NBC Bay Area also learned San Mateo County Sheriff's deputies arrested Dosouqi in May after a fight with a deputy.

San Mateo County District Attorney Steve Wagstaffe said the suspect this past spring was arrested for disturbing the peace because he was stepping into traffic and trying to touch people.

Investigators said it does not appear the suspect knew the victims, and that the two men just responded to what ended up being a deadly call for help.

"We do believe he lured each of these victims to that site to murder them," Wagstaffe said.5358315_062119-kgo-skyline-crime-scene-img_Image_16-00-22_19.jpg

This past spring he was convicted of disturbing the peace on Highway 1 after he stepped out into traffic and tried to touch people in their cars.

I’m really trying to picture this.

Killer said he can't remember.
Is he malingering or completely bonkers? He was cunning enough to lure his victims to a very dark , foggy,, forested location.

He told ABC7 that he "had some kind of nerve damage." He appeared nervous during the interview and seemed dazed and confused. He didn't appear to understand that he is being charged with two counts of murder.

When asked if he killed the two men, Dosouqi said "no." He said, "I want to prove my innocence" and that he was "wrongfully accused."

He said he plans to prove his innocence by getting a lawyer.

When asked about the crimes he's accused of committing, he said "I don't remember anything" except "waking up in the hospital."

Dosouqi said he doesn't recall driving on Skyline Boulevard either night. When asked if he knew Nasher or Pekipaki, he shook his head and said no.

He told ABC7 that an officer told him he works at a hotel, but he doesn't remember if he works at a hotel or not. When he was shown a photo of his parents, Dosouqi said he didn't recognize them and hadn't spoken to his family. He says they didn't come to the hospital or the jail that he knows of.

Dosouqi has his first court appearance on Monday. Investigators are still trying to determine a motive and if the two stabbings are somehow linked.
