Samuel Trevino Liscano, 39, was found guilty for one count of aggravated sexual assault of an 8-month-old baby girl on Friday, Feb. 1.
Liscano, a Weslaco resident, was charged and convicted of sexually assaulting the baby on April 14, 2017.
Liscano faces an automatic life sentence when he appears before the 398th District Court Judge Keno Vasquez on Tuesday, Feb. 26.
He is a registered sex offender for a prior Indecency with a Child by Sexual Contact case for which he was convicted in Cameron County in 2009.
“The outstanding investigative work of the Weslaco Police Department and our Special Crimes prosecutors have ensured that no other baby or child will be victimized by this child predator,” said District Attorney Ricardo Rodriguez Jr. “Our prayers are with the entire family and toddler that this horrific crime will not prevent her from having a safe and happy future.”
