Pavel Mazzhukhin, 47, was buying a packet of cigarettes when he was killed by the impatient customer, who has not been named, in the town of Ivanteyevka, 12 miles from Moscow.

The suspect, a 42-year-old welder, was detained shortly afterwards and reportedly told cops that he was in a rush because it was the first day of his Christmas holiday and he wanted to celebrate.

The incident was filmed by a CCTV camera and later posted online.

Mazzhukhin, dressed in a blue jacket, is seen chatting with two female shop assistants. The 42-year-old suspect, wearing a black cap, approaches the shopper and insults him before pushing him away from the counter.

Mazzhukhin half-heartedly pushes him back and the suspect reacts angrily, punching the man in the face.

During a brief scuffle, the suspect checks his headphones and realises they were broken and lashes out at the victim.

A right hook sends Mazzhukhin to the floor and the impatient customer then stamps on his head several times as two nearby shoppers do nothing.

He is then seen taking something close to the victim's motionless body, reportedly a £12 (1,000 RUB) banknote dropped by Mazzhukhin during the beating.

The suspect said he took Mazzhukhin's money as compensation for his broken headphones.

According to reports, the suspect bought alcohol and then left the store while a shop assistant called for an ambulance.

However, by the time paramedics arrived Mazzhukhin was already dead. He left behind a wife and young daughter.

I hate people every day of the entire year... even more so during the holidays.
