Richard Dean Hollenbeck, 30, told police he blacks out sometimes but didn’t think he molested the child.

A Gainesville man was arrested Thursday after police say he sexually assaulted a child under the age of 12 at least three times, including at least one time at a Christmas party.

Police did not disclose the age or sex of the child.

A Gainesville Police Department report says Richard Dean Hollenbeck, 30, began touching the child last summer.

The child told a forensic interviewer at the Child Advocacy Center of Gainesville that on multiple occasions, Hollenbeck would get in a pool while they were playing, the report says. Hollenback would act like he was throwing the child in the water but would touch the child inappropriately with his fingers.

Another assault happened when Hollenbeck got into bed with the child when they were sleeping over at his home, according to GPD. The molestation hurt but the child didn’t say anything out of fear.

In December at a Christmas party, the report says the child became tired and went to a bedroom. Police say Hollenbeck went there, too, and molested the child.

During a voluntary interview, Hollenbeck told police he has problems which cause him to “black out” and lose certain periods of time from his memory, the report says. He said he did not think he had touched the child in an inappropriate way.

Hollenbeck was charged with sexual battery on a victim under 12 years old.

He looks every bit the part of a child molester.
His lie of blacking out holds no water.
Feed him to General Population.
