Women behind allegations of sexual abuse have come forward against R. Kelly in a new documentary.

Many of the accusations that have plagued his career came to light in the first two parts of a six part documentary which aired on Lifetime on Thursday night titled Surviving R. Kelly.

Many of the women came forward in the shocking docuseries in which friends, family, and accusers opened up about their alleged relationships with Kelly, 51, who has been accused of pursuing relationships with underage women - several of whom he allegedly met at the mall or high schools.

Kelly has long denied all of the accusations made against him.

From an early age, Kelly's musical talent was apparent to those around him, and he enjoyed success not long after leaving high school and winning a singing contest.

Yet it was around this time Kelly allegedly began meeting girls at high schools.

Music producer Craig Williams said: 'I heard a lot about him hanging a lot around the high school.'

What the hell is he doing hanging around the high school?' he added.

Jovante Cunningham, a former back-up signer for Kelly, said she met the R&B artist at Kenwood High School.

She said she didn't know how old he was at the time, nor was his age ever an issue.

With aspirations to become a professional singer, Jovante was dazzled by Kelly's talent and started working with him in his studio.

But she admits they were naive, and claimed she first saw him perform a sexual act in the studio with one of her teenage friends.

'We were so stupid. Just so naive. The first time I witnessed a sexual act in the studio... he had one of my teenage friends in the booth with him, bent over. And we were all right there. I will not say with whom, but none of us were of age. None of us,' she said.

ovante says eventually they were introduced to Aaliyah when she was 12-years-old, and said she helped transform her sweet, angelic image into something edgier.

She claims she saw Kelly allegedly having sex with a then 15-year-old Aaliyah in a tour bus.

Aaliyah's mother, Diane Houghton, has since disputed Jovante's claims.

Kelly's former tour manager and personal assistant, Demetrius Smith, explained the singer initially denied having any sort of romantic relationship with Aaliyah.

This changed when Kelly admitted he believed Aaliyah had become pregnant.

Just finished watch the beginning of the doc on R. Kelly and i went through different emotions. How could so many adults know what he was doing and look the other way.

He manipulated so many young girls and used them it is just disgusting. How he could have been found innocent after the sex tape has always amazed me.

Some people want fame for the money.
R. Kell wanted it to feed his proclivity for teenage underage girls. The guy's a sexual predator pure and simple he should be behind bars and castrated.

Authorities in Chicago and Atlanta are investigating allegations of sexual and physical abuse against R. Kelly in the wake of the Lifetime docuseries, Surviving R. Kelly, The New York Times reports.

Prosecutors in both cities are looking to speak with potential victims and witnesses. In Atlanta, the district attorney’s office reportedly began conducting interviews last week, while the Cook County, Illinois state attorney, Kimberly M. Foxx, held a press conference in Chicago Tuesday and asked people to come forward if they had any information.

“Please come forward,” said Foxx. “There’s nothing that can be done to investigate these allegations without the cooperation of both victims and witnesses. We cannot seek justice without you.”

Foxx called Surviving R. Kelly “deeply, deeply disturbing,” adding that after the series aired her office received calls from two families in Chicago who were concerned about recent contacts between R. Kelly and someone they knew. However, Foxx did not confirm that there was an active criminal investigation at the moment.

Meanwhile, a lawyer representing the parents of one of R. Kelly’s alleged victims, Joycelyn Savage, said that senior investigators in Atlanta had contacted them on Monday. The family, along with other witnesses, were reportedly made available for questioning. The Fulton County District Attorney’s Office declined to comment when reached by Rolling Stone.

The budding investigations mark the most significant developments in the effort to hold R. Kelly accountable. While journalists have been tracking the accusations against him for years, Surviving R. Kelly collected the stories of many of his alleged victims, as well as those from the singer’s inner-circle. R. Kelly has repeatedly denied all accusations.

I guess getting away with it all this time made him think everyone is on board with his shit. Good retort from Chappelle, and I hope that's just what he replied.

Sexual predator R. Kelly has been charged with 10 counts of aggravated sexual abuse. Can I get an amen?

Attorney Michael Avenatti says he has evidence R. Kelly and his “enablers” paid witnesses and others to “rig” the outcome of the R&B star’s 2008 trial, when he was acquitted on child pornography charges.

Avenatti told The Associated Press that’s one piece of information he’ll present at a news conference Friday in Chicago.

Of course, Kelly denies the accusations.

Avenatti said last week he gave the Cook County State’s Attorney’s office a videotape he says shows Kelly having sex with an underage girl.

On Thursday, two women said Kelly picked them out of a crowd at Baltimore after-party in the mid-1990s and had sex with one of them, who was 16.

R. Kelly was charged with multiple counts of criminal sexual abuse in a Chicago court Friday after decades of rumors and allegations that the R&B star was abusing women and underage girls.

Tandra Simonton, spokeswoman for the Cook County State's Attorney's Office, confirmed to The Associated Press the charges had been filed against the 52-year-old Grammy winner but declined to say how many. Media reports said there were 10 counts, at least some of them involving underage victims.

Kelly has denied allegations of sexual misconduct involving women and underage girls for decades. Neither Kelly’s legal representative nor the Cook County prosecutor's office immediately responded to Fox News’ request for comment on the charges.

It's about DOGGONE time. I saw a documentary about him just last week & was freakin' blown away. I also saw where a man was pleading to get his daughter home from the R. Kelly Sex Cult.

R Kelly is a piece of shit. The fact that he remained free long enough to commit these crimes is testament to the fact that the only real societal 'privileges' are wealth and fame, not skin color.

If that man had any balls, he would have put one through Kellys head and lived with the consequences. I can't stand these pathetic beta males who refuse to put themselves on the line to do the right thing.

R Kelly has surrendered to police in Chicago after an arrest warrant was issued for him on ten counts of aggravated criminal sexual abuse.

Robert Sylvester Kelly, 52, surrendered on Friday night at the 1st District Chicago police station, hours after the Cook County State's Attorney office issued a no bail warrant for his arrest.

Kelly arrived at the station in a large black van with tinted windows at around 8pm CT. He exited the vehicle wearing a puffy blue coat, entered the station house, was handcuffed and led away.

The R&B singer did not respond as reporters shouted questions, including 'Are you innocent?' and 'How do you explain the video?'

In response to a question about what he had to say 'to the black women of Chicago,' Kelly's attorney shot back: 'That's an offensive question.'

Following Kelly's arrest, his attorney Steve Greenberg addressed reporters outside the station.

He said that several of the charges are 'double jeopardy' because they 'involve the same girl' that Kelly was acquitted of producing child pornography with in 2008.

Greenberg went on to say that all of the accusations against Kelly, including those in the recent documentary Surviving R Kelly, are false.

'I think all the women are lying, yes. This has become, 'Hey I can say R. Kelly did something.' Boom,' the lawyer said. ''Oh I met R Kelly once, he looked at me the wrong way.' Boom, money.'

A 16 year old girl meeting her favorite performer after a concert, making her dreams come true. Now its time to cash in. I'm not a R Kelly fan, his songs aren't bad, in fact a few are pretty good, but no girl, especially from Baltimore, can get me to believe she was "plyed" with pot and alcohol and forced to have sex with her idol.

My ex-wife rolls her eyes when I told her this story. She was (still is, actually) a huge fan of Paul Weller (who was in the groups, The Jam, Style Council, Oasis) . When she 17, her high school class went to London, she went to a concert where he was performing and afterwards got invited back where she and Paul eventually did the "nasty". Its one of her most cherished memories, and I don't blame her, I mean who could? Fucking a famous heartthrob, I wish I had that memory, I would be proud of it! My ex would never think of suing, neither would I.

Complete piece of shit and his money has made him untouchable for quite awhile. BUT I pose this question... what if his victims would have been underage white girls? Does anyone else wonder if the case would've wrapped up years ago in the first trial?

Not if the hypothetical white girl and half of her family denied that it was her on the tape. Which is why he got off the first time.

Update:
Prosecutors filed a graphic four-page bond proffer document detailing Kelly’s alleged crimes. According to the filing:

:vomit:

R&B singer R. Kelly signed autographs and waved at a fan who yelled “I love you!” when he stopped at McDonald’s in downtown Chicago after being released from jailin his sexual abuse case.

Kelly posted $100,000 bail late Monday after spending the weekend in Chicago’s 7,000-inmate jail. He was arrested Friday on charges of sexually abusing four people dating back to 1998, including three underage girls.

Video footage shows Kelly inside the McDonald’s with his entourage ordering food and sitting in a booth late Monday. He’s wearing sunglasses, a tan winter coat and a black hoodie.

One fan yelled “I love you! I love you! I love you!” as Kelly got into a large black Mercedes van. He waved.

Aerial video shows Kelly later entering a cigar bar in the city’s ritzy Gold Coast neighborhood.

R. Kelly appeared to be physically restrained during an emotional television interview in which he tearfully and angrily denied accusations that he raped underage girls in his first interview since his indictment last month.

'Quit playing, I didn’t do this stuff,' the pop singer tearfully told Gayle King of CBS News on Tuesday.

‘This is not me. I’m fighting for my f*g life.’

King posted a photo on her Instagram showing moments from her sit-down with R. Kelly.

One photo shows King remaining calm and composed as Kelly is standing a few feet from her while waving his right arm in an animated fashion.

The photo also shows an unidentified man gripping Kelly's left arm as if to hold him back.

Kelly was indicted on February 22 in a Chicago courtroom on 10 counts of aggravated criminal sexual abuse against four victims, three of whom were underage at the time the alleged crimes were committed.

If convicted, he could face a maximum prison sentence of 70 years - 7 years for each count.

The singer has pleaded not guilty to all counts.
