Prince of Darkness Hospitalized Again In Latest Health Scare
The Elder Statesman of Metal has been hospitalized again in another of a series of recent health scares.
Ozzy Osbourne went back to the hospital, according to a February 6th tweet from wife Sharon, "following some complications from the flu." He was admitted to Keck Hospital following a diagnosis of "a severe upper respiratory infection" and has since cancelled the two-month European leg of "No More Tours 2," which featured Judas Fucking Priest as a support band.
The Australian leg of the tour is scheduled to start March 9th, followed by a swing through North America with Megadeth that kicks off May 31st in Sunrise, FL.
These latest cancellations follow on the heels of four missed dates at the end of the initial North American leg of the tour, caused by an October surgery and a week-long hospitalization to treat a life-threatening staph infection in Ozzy's right hand. Doctors indicated that there were actually three different infected sites on the Hand of Doom, and speculated that the infection could have occurred due to shaking hands at a meet-and-greet, which raises the grim possibility that one of Ozzy's fans almost killed him. Son Jack said earlier today, via Instagram, that the Prince of Darkness was "doing much better."
I sincerely hope so. Ozzy is no spring chicken and staph will knock even a young man's dick in the dirt; no doubt his immune system still isn't up to speed. Then again, all of the alcohol and blow on the planet have failed to kill him so far, so he may be ultimately impervious to bacteria as well.
