A Portland man riding a TriMet bus erupted in a violent frenzy, beating a woman bloody with his skateboard and his fists, authorities allege.
The reason? She had the nerve to ask him to stop swearing and yelling at the driver, according to police and prosecutors.
Dustin Allen Wood, 40, faces multiple criminal counts in the brutal attack that landed Robin Wilson, 39, in the hospital with a deep gash to her forehead and a swollen eye, cops and court documents allege.
According to police and court documents, Wood went berserk almost immediately after he boarded a No. 75 bus.
After watching the man relentlessly berate the driver over bus fare, Wilson asked him to knock it off, court records show.
“The next thing she knew she was bleeding all over the place and passengers were telling her she was struck with a skateboard,” a probable cause affidavit alleges.
Court records also claim Wood, who is 6-foot-1 and 210 pounds, punched the woman in the face. He then got off the bus, walked south along Caesar Chavez and eventually caught the next northbound No. 75, police said.
When the bus now carrying Wood arrived at the stop where the alleged beatdown occurred, passengers from the first No. 75 — now spattered with blood and out of service — got on board and recognized him, police said.
Officers arrested Wood, who still had his skateboard with him.
Wood pleaded not guilty to all counts Friday, court records show.
