INDIANAPOLIS -- A man who is already serving time for molesting and killing his own daughter is now accused in a 21-year-old cold case slaying.

In June 1989, the body of Mary Emma Dillehay, 67, was found in a home at 1045 N. Elm St. She had been raped and robbed, police said.

A Meals on Wheels volunteer made the gruesome discovery, finding Dillehay's body on the living room floor.

The case lay dormant for 21 years until Indianapolis police secured a grant to test DNA collected in cold-case crimes, 6News' Stacia Matthews reported.

Investigators said the evidence led them to Danny L. Saintignon, 54, currently serving time at the Indiana State Prison in Michigan City.

Saintignon was convicted in 1991 of murder, five counts of child molestation and incest for assaulting his 21-month-old daughter, causing internal bleeding that led to her death.

Police said Saintignon did not know Dillehay, but lived in the area at the time of the slaying. He has not admitted to the crime, detectives said.

Saintignon will be arraigned next week. He is not scheduled to be released from prison until 2053.
