Family: Man allegedly killed by Satanic couple says he was a good dad

“He was a doting father he loved his son,” said Stacey Carter, ex-girlfriend.

Wetzler last visited their son Jared in 2009.
“They played. Josh made pizzas for us,”

After that visit, she never heard from him again. She was worried about him, but kept thinking maybe he’d left town to find a better job. A friend soon called to share a strange rumor that Wetzler had been killed and buried in Algarad’s backyard

"When I went to the police, I thought they'd think I was crazy. I'd never heard of this person so it was pretty bizarre to me,”

She said police were familiar with Algarad, a self-proclaimed Satanist. He had pentagrams painted on his home and family members said he’d bragged about killing people and burying them in his back yard. Police went to search for Wetzler

A few weeks ago, police received another tip that led them back to the home. This time they found Wetzler’s remains and that of another man named Tommy Welch.
"I want to know why. I want to know why,” said Joshua Wetzler’s mother, Martha Wetzler.
Family members don’t believe Joshua Wetzler knew the suspects. They don’t understand why it took place but his mother hopes they get answers and justice for her son.
"What gives anybody the right to take somebody else's life?”

Carter said she hopes the case brings attention to the need for young people to get help before they get involved in a life of crime.
“I want this to raise awareness in the community for the need to reach out to youth that are at risk for getting into trouble for going off the rail,” said Carter.
