Kitty the itty bitty puppy is getting a second chance at life after a woman found the 5-week-old dog inside an outdoor trash container in Jurupa Valley.
The woman who made the discovery brought the big-eyed black pup to Riverside County Animal Services, where volunteers named her Kitty because she is so tiny and resembles a newborn cat, spokesman John Welsh said.
“The rescue organization, FurEver Pawz, works with us a lot and will foster this pup until she is healthy and old enough for a permanent home,” Welsh said.
