Paula Chin, 65, was reported missing Monday in New York City’s 1st policing district, in southern Manhattan, NYPD Lt. John Grimpel said in a statement. Her cause of death is under investigation.

Three people have been charged with concealment of a corpse: Chin’s son, Jared Eng, 22, of Manhattan, as well as Jennifer Lopez, 18, of Manhattan and Caitlyn O’Rourke, 21, of Patterson, New York.

Chin’s body was reportedly found at an address on Bailey Hollow Road. Property records show a former address for her on that road.

The Morris County Prosecutor’s Office said they are only assisting the NYPD on the case.

Judge waives $50K bond for woman accused of helping hide a corpse
A young woman accused of helping her boyfriend hide his slain mom’s body no longer has to secure her freedom with a $50,000 bond — thanks to New York’s new bail-reform law.

Caitlyn O’Rourke’s lawyer argued in Manhattan Supreme Court on Monday that the bond should be released because the charge against her — concealment of a human corpse — is a “non-qualifying offense” under the controversial law that officially went into effect Jan. 1.

Justice Melissa Jackson agreed, saying, “Bail is exonerated and it will be returned to whoever posted it for you.”

Jackson also noted that because “this is her first arrest,” O’Rourke, 22, of Putnam County, wouldn’t be subjected to supervised release under terms of the new law.

The move followed a Dec. 18 ruling by a different judge that released a $100,000 bond posted on behalf of Jennifer Lopez, 19, who’s also accused of assisting Jared Eng after he allegedly slit his mom’s throat in their Tribeca apartment last year.

Yeah because concealing a human corpse is one of those everyday things we all have to do before vacuuming

But by Tuesday, Ms. Chin’s body had been found stuffed in a garbage bag outside her family’s weekend home in Morristown, N.J. Her throat had been slashed. By Wednesday, her son, Jared Eng, 22, had been arrested and charged with concealing her body, with the help of his girlfriend and a friend.
Detectives believed the motive for her murder was financial.
Doctors determined she died from “multiple blunt impacts” to her head and a “stab wound” to her neck.
Ms. O’Rourke, the police complaint said, told detectives in an interview that Mr. Eng called her after he and Ms. Lopez had moved the body. She said Mr. Eng admitted to her that he had killed his mother, telling her it had taken her “a while to die.”
