SEAMAN, Ohio - Human remains have been found at the site of a house fire – the owner of which was the man who killed a delivery driver, shot a store clerk at an Adams County gas station and later took his own life on Friday, officials said.
Brandon Carter, 44, shot himself while fleeing police in a Dodge truck, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol.
Carter's home had been set on fire Friday, authorities said. After the scene was contained, investigators found human remains. Those remains have not yet been identified.
Adams County Sheriff Kimmy Rogers said law enforcement was called to the Marathon at the corner of Ohio 32 and Main Street before 7:30 a.m. for a report of a robbery and a homicide.
A male delivery driver was pronounced dead at the scene, Rogers said. A woman, who is a clerk at the store and the subject of an attempt of abduction by Carter, was shot and transported to a hospital in Cincinnati, he added.
