A wiseguy’s son had him whacked in a McDonald’s drive-thru in the Bronx — and was behind the botched hit on his own brother, federal authorities in Brooklyn said Tuesday.

Anthony Zottola Sr. was named in a Brooklyn federal indictment that charges him with murder-for-hire conspiracy, unlawful use and possession of firearms and causing death through use of a firearm.

Zottola’s father, Sylvester “Sally Daz” Zottola, was gunned down on Oct. 4 as he sat in an Acura SUV that was boxed in by other vehicles outside the fast-food eatery at Webster Avenue and Belmont Street.

The elder Zottola, 71, had ordered a medium coffee shortly before being shot in the head, chest and shoulder, law enforcement sources have said.

The reputed Bonanno crime family associate is suspected to have run an illegal gambling operation involving “Joker Poker” video games.

Leave the gun,
take the McRibs.

Just doesn't have the same flair to it.
Hits like this are supposed to be reserved for Italian restaurants not some fast food choke and puke.
Standards used to matter in the mafia. Now?...no respect for traditions.

The son of slain New York mob associate Sylvester “Sally Daz” Zottola was convicted Wednesday of the murder-for-hire plot of his father — prompting his face to turn white and his wife to burst into tears in the courtroom.
A jury in Brooklyn federal court returned the guilty verdicts for Anthony Zottola, 44, and one of his co-defendants — 36-year-old gunman Himen Ross — in the 2018 slaying at a Bronx McDonald’s drive-through. A third co-defendant, accused getaway driver Alfred Lopez was acquitted of all charges.

Prosecutors from the Eastern District of New York, over the course of a trial that spanned more than a month, revealed a detailed conspiracy between Anthony and Bloods gang leader Bushawn Shelton to carry out a series of attacks on his 71-year-old dad and on his older brother, Salvatore Zottola.

When the verdict was read, Anthony — who was also convicted of the attempted hit on his brother — slumped down and hung his head over his gold tie. His face drained of colour, turning pale.

His wife, Heide Zottola, sobbed loudly in the gallery — to the point that court officers cleared the courtroom to give the distraught woman space.

She emerged moments later, being comforted by her brother-in-law Salvatore – even though her husband had just been convicted of attempting to have him killed.

In more than 1000 text messages entered into evidence by prosecutors, Anthony and Shelton — who pleaded guilty prior to the trial — spoke in coded terms about the murder attempts.

At the direction of Anthony to kill his father, Shelton hired Ross and Lopez to finish the job after another hired gun tried – and failed – at least six times to take out Sylvester and Salvatore, prosecutors charged.

In the minutes after Ross successfully gunned down Sylvester in a Bronx McDonald’s drive-thru on October 4, 2018, Anthony joked about the slaying in a series of texts to Shelton, prosecutors charged in their opening statement.

“Can we party today or tomorrow,” Shelton texted the younger Zottola after the hit.

“Tomorrow. It’s my little man’s bday. I’m taking him to his favourite place, McDonald’s. Then to a movie. LOL like I eat that stuff,” Anthony replied.

The Bloods member texted back that it was like Anthony’s “birthday” that day, Assistant US lawyer Devon Lash said.

Son gets life in prison for hiring hitman to kill dad over real estate empire

Anthony Zottola Sr. was sentenced to life in prison in federal court, plus 112 additional years, on Friday for ordering a hitman to kill his father, 71-year-old Sylvester Zottola, in order to take over the family’s real estate empire.

According to a Department of Justice press release, 45-year-old Zottola hired 37-year-old hitman Himen Ross, who also received a life sentence, to kill both his father and brother in an effort to keep the family’s two dozen Bronx multi-family rental and commercial properties valued at $45 million.

On Oct. 4, 2018, known New York City mobster Sylvester was gunned down in what law enforcement described as a mafia-style assassination at a Bronx McDonald’s drive-thru while ordering a cup of coffee.
