A 'beloved' high school math teacher was fatally shot by police at his home on Tuesday. The man was identified as Donald Babbit, 49. Police were responding to a 911 call from Babbit's wife who claimed that he was acting erratically - and had access to weapons. Police blocked off the neighborhood and tried to persuade the man to exit the home. He eventually came out of his house brandishing a handgun. After being told to drop the weapon, Babbit chose instead to point the gun at the police. Three officers opened fire repeatedly striking Babbit. He was pronounced dead shortly thereafter. The incident is under investigation.
