A terrifying case in court. The sex crimes against Mark R. Buechler of Henrietta are so serious, the punishment he's facing, if guilty, is the same as murder.
Buechler is in the Monroe County Jail tonight. Buechler walked into the county courtroom of Judge Sam Valleriani to face 29 charges of sex abuse against two children.
The judge wanted to officially identify Buechler and get the correct pronunciation
of his last name.
Mark Buechler, charged with 29 counts:
Judge Sam Valleriani: "Buechler?"
Buechler: "Yes."
Judge: "That's you?"
Buechler: "Yes."

Assistant District Attorney Sara VanStrydonck ran down the charges listed in the indictment:
- Predatory sexual assault against a child
- Criminal sexual act in the second degree
- Use of a child in a sexual performance
- Possessing a sexual performance by a child
- Sexual abuse in the first degree

Peter Pullano is Buechler's attorney.
"We'll waive a full reading, enter pleas of not guilty," Pullano said.
News10NBC went through the 12-page indictment Thursday.
Prosecutors say Buechler started abusing the children eight years ago. They also say that police found a videotape of child porn he produced just six days before he was arrested.

News10NBC Investigative Reporter Berkeley Brean: "So, not only is he accused of sex abuse and possession of child pornography, he's accused of producing the child pornography?"
Sara VanStrydonck, Assistant District Attorney: "That's correct."
Brean: "How would you describe this person to the public?"
VanStrydonck: "Well, these are only allegations at this point but the allegations in the indictment are obviously some serious charges."
In New York State's ranking of crimes, predatory sexual assault is the same as murder.
"My client maintains his innocence on these charges," Pullano said. "They are very serious charges obviously, we're taking them very seriously. There's a lot of work to do."
Investigative Reporter Berkeley Brean also dug into Buechler's records with the Monroe County Clerk's office. A mortgage document was found which showed that he lived on West Lake Road in Geneseo until 2009. That's when, the records show, he bought a house in Henrietta for $206,500.

KILL IT.

It's a fact of life that very real life monsters live among us. This predator may be put away for life but sexual predators generally speaking more or less come and go through the systems revolving door. When one goes through the front door they are releasing another one out the back.

It is infuriating.

I am just glad to know that at least in New York that such "acts" or "charges" are ranked up there with murder... Here in the state of Washington sickos that CONVICTED of such crimes get maybe 3 years 1/3 off for good time and thrown right back into the community. Drug dealers get more time than those guys.

Omg. First of all, I’ll take that as a compliment even though I have no idea what merging stories means. :shrug:Which should probably tell you I’m not gonna be good at it. But I’ll let the compliment stand and if I know what to do, I’m happy to help. :joyful:
And only if I can have the title of devils concubine
