Distressing footage has emerged of a woman being chased by a pack of 11 dogs before they pull her to the ground, rip her scalp off and maul her to death.

CCTV footage captured a woman, named as Margarita N, 34, running in terror as a pack of wild animals pursue her in Tecamac, Mexico.

Margarita, who worked in a toll booth, can be seen fleeing the dogs before apparently stumbling when she falls out of view of the camera.

The horrific attack was not caught on camera but the terrified woman was ambushed by the dogs who tore her apart until she died, according to local reports.

She was found with large chunks of flesh and hair missing and her scalp had been ripped off by the ferocious animals.

Margarita was reportedly crossing a waste ground on her way to work at a nearby toll booth when she encountered the pack of dogs.

It is believed the animals could have attacked her because she strayed into their territory, according to local reports.

However police are not ruling out the possibility that the dogs could have been set upon her.
