Police suspect he received 118 million won (£79,954) in government money between 2010 and 2018

A man in South Korea who pretended to be blind for eight years to get benefits has been caught after his neighbour saw him driving a car.

Korean media reported the Busan Yeonje police station said it had arrested the man, who is in his 40s, on suspicion of violating the pension and disabilities act.
He is suspected of misrepresenting himself as a person with a level one visual impairment - the most serious level.

Police suspect he received 118 million won (£79,954) in government money between 2010 and 2018.

They say he was caught after one of his neighbours, who believed he was blind, reported him to a Korean anti-corruption agency after seeing him driving and parking a car.
