A man was on the phone with police dispatchers when he shot and killed his teenage grandson early Monday, according to the Kanawha County Sheriff's Office.
Elkview resident Richard Lipscomb, 78, fatally shot his 19-year-old grandson, Griffin Lipscomb, according to a news release. Richard Lipscomb said he was fighting with his grandson and acted in self defense. Both men lived in the house on Sparrow Lane where the shooting occurred and witnesses were present.
