Authorities have made an arrest in the fatal hit-and-run that killed a man and five dogs Thursday morning near Dayton.

Officials identified the victim as Michael Kuntz, 59, of Dayton.

James Parisi, 38, of Dayton was arrested after the Lyon County Sheriff's Office and Nevada Highway Patrol investigated numerous tips that led to the location of the identified vehicle, according to a news release.

The Lyon County Sheriff's Office released still images from security camera footage on Thursday that shows the "vehicle of interest" tied to a fatal hit-and-run near Dayton this morning.

The images show a dark-colored, older-model SUV.

This happened on 6 Mile Canyon road. Some Dayton commuters going to Reno use it to take miles off their route. Thing is, these are Bonanza era mining roads that are now paved. They take 6 Mile Canyon to Virginia City, then Geiger Grade down to 395. Yes, that Virginia City.
