Police said the couple was sitting in their car in their driveway when two men in clown masks approached them with a machete. One of the suspects held the machete to the man’s throat and said he wanted to rob them, according to the department.
The man fought back by taking the machete away from the suspect while the woman hit the other suspect with a child’s scooter that was in the driveway.
The suspects tried to drive away, but the victims followed them and broke their car window with the scooter.
Police were called and arrested the suspects, identified as 32-year-old Luis Jimenez and 35-year-old Jose Lugo.
