A woman who shot into and tried to set fire to the wrong house in an attempted attack on a family member was sentenced to 20 years in prison, Coweta County’s district attorney said.

Lindsey Deeanne Wells of Decatur pleaded guilty Nov. 28 to two counts of aggravated assault, criminal damage to property and arson in the 2017 attack, prosecutor Herb Cranford said in a statement Thursday.

Wells said she intended to kill her cousin when she fired gunshots into a house on Corn Crib Drive with two teenagers inside, officials said at the time .

After she also tried to set the house on fire, she told deputies she practices witchcraft, Channel 2 Action News reported.

After the June 7 attack, she went to a nearby Waffle House and called 911 to turn herself in.

“Ms. Wells told the Investigator that she did this because her family member’s life was great and her (Ms. Wells) life had been destroyed and she just wanted to go to jail as opposed to ending up on the street,” Cranford said.

Baba Yaga here is as tech savvy and thoughtful as lawmakers.

It was the wrong house alright. It should've been the house containing an adult with a .45.

Wasn't a terribly adept witch was she?
