Disgraced USA gymnastics doctor Larry Nassar moved to a new prison after being 'attacked by inmates when he was released into the general population'
  • Larry Nassar, 54, was allegedly assaulted by fellow inmates at the federal prison in Tuscon, Arizona in May after being released into general population
  • The Federal Bureau of Prisons has confirmed Nassar is now being held at the Oklahoma Federal Transfer Center
Former USA Gymnastics doctor Larry Nassar, who was sentenced to life in jail for molesting young athletes, has been moved to another prison after he was assaulted behind bars.

Nassar was attacked by inmates at the high-security prison in May almost immediately after he was released into the general population of prisoners at the United States Penitentiary in Tucson, Arizona.

The former doctor, 54, who suffered some injuries in the attack, was jailed there in February after he was sentenced to life in prison for molesting athletes and possessing child porn, according his lawyer.

The Federal Bureau of Prisons has confirmed that Nassar is now being held at the Oklahoma Federal Transfer Center. The center is a temporary holding prison for inmates who have yet to be assigned to a permanent prison facility

It's not clear when the transfer took place.

Ralph Miller, a retired Bureau of Prisons employee, told Detroit News that Nassar could be transferred to another high security prison in Florida or Indiana after it became clear that the Tuscon prison could not house him safely.

'This is a difficult case for the Bureau of Prisons in that Nassar's case is highly publicized and he will be known to the inmate population no matter which facility is selected,' Miller said.

It's funny to me that he was moved, but it has been a made a point to state where he was moved to, and where he may be going.

Good, I hope this asshole never ever catches a break.

Michigan State University tried to "stonewall" the state investigation into the handling of the Larry Nassar scandal to protect its reputation, according to the report by Michigan special prosecutor Bill Forsyth.

According to Forsyth, the University hired a private law firm to investigate the case. As a result, MSU has not waived attorney-client privilege over the Nassar case, hindering the prosecutor's access to in-depth information about the scandal.

"They vowed they'd cooperate with us during the course of the investigation. But the big bone of contention was their invocation of attorney-client privilege, which is perfectly legitimate. There's nothing illegal nothing improper about it," said Forsyth. "But if they were going to ask us to finally look at what happened here, I don't know how you ever get to the bottom of this if they don't get around to waiving this privilege."

"So I actually asked the attorney to waive the privilege on behalf of the University to give us access to the documents they have been withholding and redacting, and they said no."

So far, Forsyth's investigation has resulted in criminal charges against two former MSU officals: William Strampel, the former dean of MSU's College of Osteopathic Medicine and Nassar's former boss, and former MSU gymnastics coach Kathie Klages.

Ex-MSU president to stand trial for allegedly lying to cops about Larry Nassar complaint
Former Michigan State University President Lou Anna Simon will stand trial for allegedly lying to police about how much she knew about disgraced sports doctor Larry Nassar.

A judge on Monday found probable cause to send Simon, 72, to trial on two felony and two misdemeanor counts of giving false statements to investigators in May 2018, claiming that she knew a university sports doctor was “under review” but knew “nothing of substance” about the allegations,

Washington (CNN)The FBI has fired an agent who is accused of failing to launch a proper investigation into former USA Gymnastics doctor Larry Nassar, The Washington Post reported Tuesday.

The agent, Michael Langeman, lost his job last week, two people familiar with the matter told the Post.

Langeman was a supervisory special agent in the FBI's Indianapolis office and had interviewed star gymnast McKayla Maroney in 2015 about her allegations of sexual abuse against Nassar.

According to the Post, Langeman is among the unnamed FBI officials described in a scathing report this summer from the Justice Department's inspector general. The report found the agents investigating allegations of sexual abuse by Nassar had violated the FBI's policies by making false statements and failing to properly document complaints by the accusers, resulting in a delay in the probe into the claims.

The revelation comes the night before four US gymnastics stars -- Maroney, Simone Biles, Maggie Nichols and Aly Raisman -- will testify before the Senate Judiciary Committee during a hearing about the FBI's handling of the investigation. Justice Department Inspector General Michael Horowitz and FBI Director Chris Wray will also testify at the hearing, which is titled: "Dereliction of Duty: Examining the Inspector General's Report on the FBI's Handling of the Larry Nassar Investigation."

An attorney for representing multiple Nassar victims, John Manly, told the Post that Langeman's firing was "long overdue" but said, "I can't help but wonder if this is because of the Senate hearing, and the timing seems cynical."

Horowitz's probe was opened in 2018 to see whether the FBI and its field offices had dragged their feet to respond to allegations of sexual assault made by gymnasts and the USA Gymnastics organization in 2015 and 2016.

The bureau said in a statement following the release of the report that the "actions and inactions of certain FBI employees described in the report are inexcusable and a discredit to this organization," adding that it has taken action to "ensure and has confirmed that those responsible for the misconduct and breach of trust no longer work FBI matters."

Simone Biles accuses FBI of turning blind eye to Larry Nassar sexual abuse

Gymnastics GOAT Simone Biles broke down in tears as she and other top US gymnasts McKayla Maroney, Maggie Nichols and Aly Raisman accused the FBI of turning a blind eye to the sexual abuse perpetrated by sicko sports doctor Larry Nassar.

Biles had to regain her composure as she delivered heart-wrenching testimony in front of the Senate Judiciary Committee.

The seven-time Olympian blamed the FBI, as well as USA Gymnastics (USAG) and the United States Olympic and Paralympic Committee (USOPC) for covering up the USA Gymnastics team doctor’s abuse.

“It truly feels like the FBI turned a blind eye to us and went out of its way to help protect USAG and USOPC,” Biles said.

USA Gymnastics and the US Olympics committee agreed Monday to give $380 million to victims of Larry Nassar’s sex abuse, the Wall Street Journal reported.

Gold medalists like Simone Biles, Aly Raisman and McKayla Maroney will receive money in the settlement after it was revealed that team doctor Nassar had been repeatedly abusing gymnasts like the three for decades.

Nassar, 58, a former Michigan State University and USA Gymnastics doctor, has been accused of sexual abuse under the guise of medical treatment by more than 260 women. He will rot in prison until death with sentences totaling hundreds of years for criminal sexual conduct and child pornography convictions.

Ending a five-year legal battle, the agreement is the largest ever for sex abuse victims, according to the WSJ, which said TIG Insurance Company will pay a majority of the sum.

“We are pleased that these brave women are again recognized for coming forward and what they went through,” Jordan Merson — who represents multiple victims in the bankruptcy case — told The Post.

USA Gymnastics filed for bankruptcy in 2018, unable to deal with the volume of lawsuits the organization was facing. Former gymnasts have since ripped the organization for being complicit in the abuse. The FBI also came under fire for its role in the investigation when the DOJ’s inspector general found the bureau made mistakes that allowed Nassar to keep abusing dozens of girls before he was finally arrested.

DETROIT — Thirteen sexual assault victims of Larry Nassar are seeking $10 million each from the FBI, claiming a bungled investigation by agents led to more abuse by the sports doctor, lawyers said Thursday.

It’s an effort to make the government responsible for assaults that occurred after 2015. The Justice Department’s inspector general concluded last year that the FBI made fundamental error

White is not suing the FBI yet. Under federal law, tort claims must be a filed with a government agency, which then has six months to reply. A lawsuit could follow depending on the FBI’s response.

“No one should have been assaulted after the summer of 2015 because the FBI should have done its job,” said Grace French, founder of a group called The Army of Survivors. “To know that the FBI could have helped to avoid this trauma disgusts me.”

The inspector general’s investigation was spurred by allegations that the FBI failed to promptly address complaints made in 2015 against Nassar. It took months before agents opened a formal investigation.

Nassar was arrested by state authorities in November 2016.

FBI Director Christopher Wray has said he’s “deeply and profoundly sorry” for delays in Nassar’s prosecution and the pain it caused.

There’s no dispute that FBI agents in 2015 knew that Nassar was accused of assaulting gymnasts, but they failed to act, leaving him free to continue to target young women and girls for more than a year. He pleaded guilty in 2017 and is serving decades in prison.

“It is time for the FBI to be held accountable,” said Maggie Nichols, a national champion gymnast at Oklahoma in 2017-19.

Under federal law, a government agency has six months to respond to the tort claims filed Wednesday. Lawsuits could follow, depending on the FBI’s response.

White noted the 2018 massacre at Florida’s Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School. The FBI received a tip about five weeks before 17 people were killed at the school, but the tip was never forwarded to the FBI’s South Florida office. The government agreed to pay $127.5 million to families of those killed or injured.

The approximately 90 claimants include Biles, Aly Raisman and McKayla Maroney, all Olympic gold medalists, according to Manly, Stewart & Finaldi, a California law firm. Separately, 13 claims were filed by others in April.

“If the FBI had simply done its job, Nassar would have been stopped before he ever had the chance to abuse hundreds of girls, including me,” said former University of Michigan gymnast Samantha Roy.

An email seeking comment was sent to the FBI.

Indianapolis-based USA Gymnastics told local agents in 2015 that three gymnasts said they were assaulted by Nassar, a team doctor. But the FBI did not open a formal investigation or inform federal or state authorities in Michigan, according to the Justice Department’s inspector general, an internal watchdog.

Los Angeles agents in 2016 began a sexual tourism investigation against Nassar and interviewed several victims but also didn’t alert Michigan authorities, the inspector general said.

Nassar wasn’t arrested until fall 2016 during an investigation by Michigan State University police. He was a doctor at Michigan State.

The Michigan attorney general’s office ultimately handled the assault charges against Nassar, while federal prosecutors in Grand Rapids, Michigan, filed a child pornography case.

In remarks to Congress last year, FBI Director Christopher Wray acknowledged major mistakes.

“I’m especially sorry that there were people at the FBI who had their own chance to stop this monster back in 2015 and failed. And that’s inexcusable,” Wray told victims at a Senate hearing.

At that same hearing, Biles, widely considered to be the greatest gymnast of all time, said an “entire system” enabled the abuse. Maroney recalled “dead silence” when she talked to FBI agents about Nassar.

The Justice Department in May said that it would not pursue criminal charges against former agents who were accused of giving inaccurate or incomplete responses during the inspector general’s investigation.

It's seems Ol' Larry is still having trouble making friends because he was stabbed repeatedly in prison. I'm not exactly feeling any empathy for this turd. I hope his healing and recovery time are painful and extended.

I do hope he heals though.... so someone else can get him again.
