TRACY — A 39-year-old substitute teacher has been arrested after Tracy Police detectives said he inappropriately touched eight girls over two days while working at their elementary school and had several images of child pornography at his home.

Jesse Llorente III, of Tracy, was booked into San Joaquin County Jail on eight counts of lewd acts on a child and one count of possession of child pornography after he apparently stroked the hair and back of some students at George Kelly Elementary School, 535 Mabel Josephine Drive, police said.

Last week, investigators served a search warrant at Llorente's home on the 100 block of Ramona Way, where they found several images of child pornography on his laptop computer, police said.

Detective Nate Cogburn said Llorente acknowledged he was touching the child inappropriately and knew it was wrong at the time.

"I believe he had sexual intentions while doing the touching," Cogburn said. "He said it fulfilled him."

Cogburn said the touching was disclosed to school officials who brought the case to the police.

It's the third time in the past month someone has been arrested in Tracy for possession of child pornography or lewd conduct with a child.

"I think it's in every town," Cogburn said. "You just have to be willing to go hunt for them and find them. I don't think we're any worse off than any other city, it's just a matter of finding out what they're doing."

Tracy Unified School District officials declined to comment, citing personnel issues.

However, in a letter to Kelly School parents and guardians, Superintendent James Franco wrote Llorente has not been an active substitute since Feb. 27 after being removed from the active substitute list and is not permitted on school property.

"If your child shows signs of stress or concern regarding this event and you would like assistance from our school psychologist, please contact the Kelly School office at 209-831-5000," Franco wrote. "Kelly School and all of our Tracy Unified schools are proud of being safe schools. The cooperation between students, parents and staff members keeps our schools safe and is important and appreciated."

An informational meeting for parents with questions or concerns have been scheduled, beginning at 4:30 p.m. Thursday in the Kelly School Library. A second meeting is scheduled at the same time and place on Friday.

" A former Tracy substitute teacher will have to register as a sex offender for the rest of his life and serve five years of probation for inappropriately touching a dozen students and possessing child pornography.

Jessie Llorente III, 39, was also sentenced Monday in Superior Court to serve 365 days in county jail, of which he has served 271 days. He has been held at San Joaquin County Jail in lieu of $1 million bail since his arrest in March. Once he is released, he is forbidden to be near children without notifying the probation department and must stay away from anywhere children gather, including schools, parks and arcades.

Llorente could have received three years in state prison after pleading guilty to one count of lewd acts with a child in a deal with the District Attorney’s Office, but San Joaquin Superior Court Judge Franklin Stephenson said Llorente’s offenses — touching the girls’ hair, backs and earlobes — coupled with his remorse warranted probation instead.

A grand jury indicted Llorente on nine counts of lewd acts with a child, nine misdemeanor counts of child molestation and one count of possessing child pornography, said Elton Grau, deputy district attorney.During the investigation, police learned that Llorente had looked at pornography featuring young-looking people on his computer after returning home from school. That made the seemingly harmless touching appear more nefarious, Grau said.

Llorente has no criminal record, his attorney Deborah Fialkowski said. He has been working with children for about a decade with no prior complaints.

Fialkowski told the judge she doubted she would be standing in court had her client been a woman.

Sentencing had been delayed while the court awaited the completion of doctors’ reports on whether Llorente was likely to repeat his offenses. Stephenson said the report stated the Tracy man was at minimal risk to reoffend. Llorente also wrote a letter to the judge, in which he admitted committing the crime and expressed remorse for his actions."

So, what I can gather from this update is that he did not actually have CP (one count just seems odd). Just creepy porn, which very much exists. So, there are kinds of two scenarios possible here: Was this guy a ticking time bomb that was/is going to abuse a child or was this a guy that was somehow trying to manage and regulate what is a recognized psychiatric disorder; pedophilia? Hair, backs, and earlobes could be lewd given context, but I don't see how they get "molestation" from that? This is anyone's guess and only he knows the answer.

I in no way am saying I condone, get, accept, understand, approve, etc. this disorder, but it is a known disorder. There are people out there sexually attracted to kids, and it's not by their choice. If he was trying to manage it and not hurt anyone, more power to him because there are not many constructive ways to deal with it or to even discuss it. I don't know what the answer is at all, but there should be some way for these people to discuss and get through this disorder without people automatically wanting to kill them, granted if they haven't acted on their feelings.

I think this sentence seems fair, and he might be one of the rare pedo's that is able to deal with it and not hurt anyone. I hope so, at least.

I'm not sure what to think either, Hopefully he doesn't reoffend or escalate his actions.

but then he knew himself and his attraction to kids so why did he choose a career where he would be working with kids... if he really wants to teach or be a sub. teacher why not with older kids?? like high school age??? why would you put yourself in a position to be tempted daily??
 
He was an expert at what he does. He touched the girl’s hair, back and earlobes. Those are the key points.

Maybe he actually liked helping kids and thought he could control it to a point. No idea. I know bar tenders that are sober alcoholics. I could be completely wrong too. Just in reading this article there was just something that was a little different, and I wanted to throw it out there to discuss.

yea i got that also cuz what was actually reported is not really out there bad... and yea if a woman would have done the samething well i am not so sure it would have been reported,, and lewd ?? the only say stroke their hair and back but i think it is the child's pronography that did him in... but there are a no touch policy in every school so he should have known better :(
 
the alarming thing about this case is that it was extremely sensual and erotic.
