This one raises my hinky meter, just a bit. Where are the other 3 kids? Did they crash with them and wander off afterwards? Were the Harts abusing them and commited a murder suicide to prevent anyone from taking the kids from them? So many questions.

The two women and their six adopted children traveled to festivals and events, offering free hugs and promoting unity, friends said. They raised animals and grew vegetables and last year moved onto a piece of land in rural southwest Washington, a dream of theirs.

The Hart Tribe, as they were known, also took spontaneous road trips to hike or camp, and friends believe they may have been on one of those adventures when their SUV plunged off a scenic California highway.

"We know that an entire family vanished and perished during this tragedy," said Mendocino County Sheriff Tom Allman on Wednesday as he appealed for help retracing where the family had been before the vehicle was found Monday.

Friends described married couple Jennifer and Sarah Hart as loving, inspiring parents who promoted social justice and exposed their "remarkable children" to art, music and nature. But neighbors said they saw signs that caused them to worry about how the homeschooled children were being cared for.

The California Highway Patrol has not determined why the vehicle went off an ocean overlook on a rugged part of coastline. A specialized team of accident investigators was trying to figure that out, Allman said.

"We have no evidence and no reason to believe that this was an intentional act," he said, adding that the scene was confusing because "there were no skid marks, there were no brake marks" at the roadside turnout where the vehicle went over.

Authorities believe six children were in the vehicle with their parents, though three siblings haven't been found.

The 100-foot (31-meter) drop killed both women, both 39, and their children Markis Hart, 19; Jeremiah Hart, 14; and Abigail Hart, 14. Hannah Hart, 16; Devonte Hart, 15; and Sierra Hart, 12, have not been found.

"This is a tragic accident of a magnitude that cannot be measured," said Zippy Lomax, a photographer who knew the Harts.

"They were really radiant, warm, adventurous inspiring people. They were always on some grand adventure, and the kids were living this life that was kind of like this dream," Lomax told The Associated Press. "The family was this very self-supporting unit that was impossible to miss. When they showed up to an event, they made an impression. They shattered a lot of norms and they did not shy away from controversy or adversity."

The Harts, who went to events such as rallies for presidential candidate Bernie Sanders, often showed up in matching T-shirts.

The family gained attention after Devonte Hart was photographed during a 2014 protest in Portland, Oregon, over a grand jury's decision not to indict a police officer in the shooting of a black man in Ferguson, Missouri. The boy, holding a "Free Hugs" sign, stood crying. A Portland officer saw his sign and asked if he could have a hug, and an emotional Hart embraced him in a picture that was widely shared.

The Harts moved to Woodland, Washington, a small city outside Portland, Oregon, in the spring of last year, partly overwhelmed by the media coverage. The multi-racial family also received death threats, Ribner said.

The family had a recent visit from state child protective services, Clark County sheriff's Sgt. Brent Waddell told AP.

Next-door neighbors Bruce and Dana DeKalb said they called child services Friday because they were concerned about Devonte Hart, who they said had been coming over to their house in the past week asking for food.

Dana DeKalb said the boy told her his parents "weren't feeding them" and were "punishing them by withholding food." He came over almost every day for a week, and asked her to leave food in a box by the fence for him, she said.

Washington state child protective services opened an investigation Friday and tried to make contact with the family three times since Friday, but weren't able to reach them, said Norah West, a spokeswoman with the state Department of Social and Health Services. The agency had no prior history with the family, she said.

The DeKalbs also recounted that three months after the family moved into the home on 2 acres with a fenced pasture in May 2017, one of the girls rang their doorbell at 1:30 a.m.

She "was at our door in a blanket saying we needed to protect her," Bruce DeKalb said. "She said that they were abusing her."

In 2011, Sarah Hart pleaded guilty to a domestic assault charge in Minnesota. Her plea led to the dismissal of a charge of malicious punishment of a child, online court records say.

Max Ribner, who has known the family since 2012, said allegations from neighbors don't square with what he knows about the Harts.

"They are beautiful examples of opening arms to strangers, helping youth, supporting racial equality," Ribner, who lives in Portland, told the AP. "They brought so much joy to the world. They represented a legacy of love."

Bill Groener, 67, was a next-door neighbor of the Harts when they lived in West Linn, Oregon, and said the kids stayed indoors most of the time. He said the family didn't eat sugar, raised their own vegetables, had animals and went on camping trips.

"There was enough positive there to kind of counteract the feeling that something maybe wasn't quite right," Groener said.

Shining a light in the world but the darkness in the home.
My hinky meter needle is vibrating in the red zone.

Another world behind closed doors.

That's a serious guilt trip for the neighbors that called in the abuse, that blows.

I highly doubt this was an accident. I wonder where the other three kids are?

How unfortunate that it was a "newsworthy" lesbian couple who had adopted the children, which gives people who disapprove even more ammunition to object to such adoptions.

I think there was a hell of alot wrong with this picture and it was done intentionally with darker thought i won't go into yet. Wonder if the moms were already dead and where the other kids were/are. The 16r old, 15 yr old and 12yr old weren't found and might have worked together to free themselves from whatever was going on but who knows what happened. Bet that two of the three are ones that reached out to other people. Maybe they too will be found dead from the accident but am wondering. Everything about this sounds wrong including them using these kids as trained pets to promote whatever agenda that had nothing to do with the kids actual welfare in my opinion. Just saw some pictures of one of the boys and the look on his face had the look I have sen on kids south of the border of acting or else to not get punished.

One of the lesbian mothers who were found dead on Monday alongside three of their six adopted children after plunging off a cliff in California was previously arrested for assaulting her six-year-old daughter.

Court documents show that Sarah Hart was arrested and charged with misdemeanor domestic assault and malicious punishment of a child December 27, 2010, when the family lived in Minnesota.

It was previously revealed that Sarah Hart and her wife Jennifer, both 39, had been reported to Child Protective Services days before their deaths for allegedly starving their children.

According to court records from 2010, Sarah Hart was arrested after her daughter went to school with bruises on her body.

The girl, identified in court documents as six-year-old AH, is believed to be now-14-year-old Abigail Hart, whose body was found at the bottom of the coastal cliff in Westport, California, alongside her mothers and two of her siblings on Monday.

Abigail told her teacher on November 15, 2010, that she had 'owies' on her stomach and backside, court records say.

'With the child's permission, the teacher lifted her shirt and saw that, indeed, the child had bruises on her front from her sternum to a point above her belly button, and on her back from midway down her back to the waistband of her pants,' according to court records.

Court documents continue: 'When the teacher asked AH what happened, AH responded, 'Mom hit me'.'

Douglas County Social Services social worker Nancy Weibe conducted interviews with the girl and took photos of her injuries, which the six-year-old said had happened the day before.

Detective Sergeant Larry Dailey from the Alexandria Police Department contacted Sarah and Jessica Hart and interviewed them separately about the bruises.

'Sarah immediately took responsibility for the spanking that occurred the previous day,' according to court records. 'The defendant explained that she and her partner, Jennifer, do not ordinarily use spanking as a disciplinary measure in their household.

'However, they have recently resorted to spanking to deal with AH 's behaviour. The defendant admitted that she let her anger get out of control the previous day while dealing with AH.

'The defendant explained that she took AH into the bathroom and bent A H over the edge of the bathtub. The defendant admitted that she hit AH on the backside and acknowledged that the marks on AH's stomach probably came from AH being bent over the tub.'

Sarah Hart was charged with one count of malicious punishment of a child punishable by one year in jail and/or a $3,000.00 fine and one count of domestic assault punishable by 90 days in jail and/or a $1,000.00 fine.

Three months later on April 7, 2011, she pleaded guilty to one count of domestic assault-intentionally inflicts/attempts to inflict bodily harm. As part of the plea deal, another charge of malicious punishment of a child was dismissed.

She was fined $385, given a 90 days sentence, which was stayed, and placed on one year's supervised probation.

After undergoing a domestic abuse evaluation and following court orders, her probation was completed on April 4, 2012.

The DailyMail.com has also learned that the deceased couple were married in Connecticut on September 1, 2009, Jennifer was listed as the groom and Sarah was listed at the bride.

But according to Minnesota court records Sarah had legally changed her name from Sarah M Gengler to Sarah M Hart, approximately four year prior to their marriage July 2005.

On Monday, the Harts bodies were found at the bottom of a cliff in Westport, California, off Highway 1 along with three of their children, Markis, 19; Jeremiah 14; and Abigail, 14.

Hannah, 16; Devonte, 15; and Sierra, 12, have not been found.

Kind of irks me that this guy tries to discount what the current neighbours are saying. Im glad they put that tidbit about her pleaing her way out of a child abuse charge right above his statement. Hope he reads it and chokes.

Just goes to show you never really know people or what they do behind closed doors.

Agreed ..

Those two bitches murdered the two missing kids, then drove themselves and the remaining four kids off the fucking cliff ..

Yeah, dead and dumped, or washed out with the tide. Vehicle was upside down, and water was in the wheel wells, so the tide had risen and fell since the accident.

This guy just contradicted himself.

It's so freaking sad that nowadays you can't take anyone at face value-

An adorable multi-ethnic family of adopted kids & nurturing lesbian moms, traveling the country growing vegetables & giving out free hugs to cops, so sweet & inspiring....

Oh but wait, they're actually a couple of depraved sickos beating & starving their kids culminating in a murder/suicide!

It's like we can't have nuthin' nice around here anymore...:sorry:

ETA: just read that the SUV went off the cliff & landed upside down in the ocean & that the 3 kids bodies were found outside the vehicle -- could it be that the 3 missing kids bodies drifted away out to sea??

These pictures show the cliff they drove off, the tire tracks in the dirt & the partially submerged SUV on its roof- totally believable that the 3 missing bodies just floated off. So sad!

look at the other pictures of that little boy dimes to dollars he was ones of the ones trying to get away from these people still hoping him and these two younger sisters are alive and escaped these probable freaks

Both the moms were wearing seat belts. Were NONE of the kids wearing them? How else could 3 bodies drift away and 3 others be found outside the vehicle? Or were the 3 kids alive after the crash, exited the car, and then died? Either way, it is strange.

http://www.foxnews.com/us/2018/04/0...dometer-pinned-at-90-mph-authorities-say.html

The cops say a felony has been committed but still they do not believe the crash was intentional. Isn't that a contradiction? What are they leaving out?

The speedometer of a Washington state family’s SUV was “pinned” at 90 mph when the vehicle was found Monday afternoon, crushed along the rocks of a Northern California shoreline, court documents say.

Authorities included the information in an affidavit for a search warrant for the home of Jennifer and Sarah Hart, adoptive parents of six children -- all of whom are believed to have perished when the vehicle plunged off the Pacific Coast Highway, Fox 12 Oregon reported.

The two women and three of the children were found dead at the crash site Monday, but it was unclear how much time had elapsed between the accident and the discovery.

Three other children are missing and may have been carried out to sea, authorities have said.

The family had been living in Oregon until last year when they moved to Woodland, Wash.

Meanwhile, law enforcement officers believe "a felony has been committed" in the case, the court documents say.

The exact nature of the suspected felony was not known, but according to the documents, "Based upon the California Highway Patrol investigation, it is their belief ‘a felony has been committed,’” Fox 12 Oregon reported.

However, authorities maintain there’s no evidence to suggest the crash was intentional, the Oregonian reported.

The court documents indicate that CHP investigators found no “acceleration marks, tire friction marks or braking furrow marks” at the scene, and there was no evidence the car collided with the embankment as it “traversed towards the tidal zone below,” Fox 12 reported.

According to the Oregonian, friends’ depictions and social media posts of the Hart family are at odds with police records.

According to accounts of the family’s neighbors in Washington state, one child had shown up at a neighbor’s doorstep alleging abuse while another had asked neighbors for food because it was supposedly being withheld as punishment.

Another child reportedly told police that Sarah Hart had hit her repeatedly with a closed fist and put her in a cold bath. According to the Oregonian, Hart pleaded guilty to the abuse in April 2011 and was sentenced to a year of probation. In another July 2013 incident, authorities responded to a call at the family’s residence.

Days before the fatal crash, the Washington State Department of Social and Health Services opened a case into the family because the children had been identified as “potential victims of alleged abuse or neglect,” the Oregonian reported. The agency had attempted to contact the family but they had reportedly left home that day.

if the speedometer was pinned at 90 and there were no acceleration or brake marks doesn’t that suggest it was intentional? I think they entered that parking area doing 90 mph & headed straight for the edge.

They said a felony had been committed but the crash was accidental, how does that square up?o_O

I just know the kids missing are the ones that complained am not too sure why they are trying to say this was any type of accident, I know those coast roads and even I won't be taking them at 90 unless I'm in a trick car I trust and know ahead of time the curbs something like what they were driving never

this is also yet another reason all along the same vein why i am against homeschooling without legitimate monitoring over what is happening to the kids and going on in the home
