Jackson man indicted on murder, child abuse charges after 2018 death of infant son

A Jackson man was indicted on charges of first-degree murder and aggravated child abuse after the July death of his 8-week-old son.

Mathew Sealy, 32, was arrested by the Jackson Police Department following the indictment, according to a JPD news release.

Police discovered the body of Sealy's infant son on July 8. An autopsy in Nashville concluded that the infant's death was the result of a homicide, according to the release.
