I couldn't find this story posted anywhere, and this moron really needs to be immortalized here.
Steven Mazzelli, criminal mastermind
In July of 2018 Steven Mazzelli murdered Mandel Harvey by bashing him in the head repeatedly with a baseball bat. Mazzelli then liberated Harvey's cash and drugs, since clearly he wasn't going to need them anymore.
As we all know, it's too damned hot to do much of anything in July, so rather than disposing of the body now chilling (literally) in his townhouse, he and his roommate just stashed it in the garage for about 6 months until the weather cooled down.
Sometime in early January they transported the corpse to some nearby woods and buried it in a shallow grave. THAT must have been pleasant.
Not satisfied with the fact that he'd gotten away with murder for 6 months at this point, Mazzelli started pondering other ways he could possibly get some more cash (and probably more drugs if we're being honest) out of this whole ordeal.
He came up with the totally foolproof solution of trying to flip the crime onto his roommate/accomplice and see if the police might offer him a monetary reward for reporting that he knew where in the woods a body was buried.
Shockingly, the police didn't take his story at face value and Mazzelli quickly became suspect # 1.
He's now at trial, continuing to make sound decisions. He's rejected a plea deal which would have had him plead guilty to a Class B felony (presumably manslaughter) with an 18 year prison sentence. He's instead going to try his luck fighting a 2nd degree murder charge, which carries a lifetime sentence if he's found guilty. Good luck, bro!
