A 26-year-old Minnesota mother of two went missing a week ago after dropping her children off at day care – and police are calling her disappearance “involuntary” and “suspicious.”

Madeline Kingsbury was last seen March 31 when she dropped off her two kids, ages 5 and 2, at their day care in Winona with their father, Police Chief Tom Williams said, KARE 11 reported.

Kingsbury, a clinical research coordinator at the Mayo Clinic, went back to her home about 8:15 a.m. in a 2014 Chrysler Town and Country minivan – but never showed up for work, he said.

The children’s father, who has not been named, told police he left the residence in the dark blue vehicle around 10 a.m. and that when he returned later in the day, Kingsbury wasn’t home.

Williams said it was “extremely out of character” for Kingsbury to not show up for work, adding that there was nothing to suggest she left on foot or in another vehicle.

Investigators obtained surveillance video of a van matching the description of the couple’s vehicle traveling along County Road 12 and Highway 43 in Winona County and then in Filmore County between 10 a.m. and 1:30 p.m.

Authorities said they could not share information about who was behind the wheel, ABC News reported. The couple’s van was later found in their driveway.

Adding to the mystery, police found Kingsbury’s wallet, cellphone and ID, as well as the jacket she wore that day, inside the house, the chief said.

“Based on all of this, we believe Maddie’s disappearance is involuntary, suspicious and we are all concerned for her safety,” he said.

Cops end community search effort for missing Minnesota mom Madeline Kingsbury after massive turnout

After scores of volunteers turned out to help search for missing Minnesota mom Madeline Kingsbury, officials announced Saturday they were disbanding the massive community effort.

“Due to this incredible turnout, we were able to cover substantially more ground in a shorter time than expected,” Winona Police said in a statement after 1,900 civilians searched Friday and another 700 joined Saturday.

“The search for Maddi is not ending and neither is the investigation into her disappearance,” the department added. “As we develop new leads and new search areas, teams of law enforcement officers will do targeted searches.”

The 26-year-old Kingsbury was last seen March 31 when she dropped her two kids, ages 5 and 2, off at their Winona day care with their father, officials said earlier this week.

A Facebook page dedicated to finding Kingsbury shared photos of her tattoos and is selling T-shirts featuring her image.

Sister of missing Madeline Kingsbury remains hopeful ahead of police update: ‘We’re going to find you’

New information in the investigation of missing Minnesota woman Madeline Kingsbury was expected to be released by police Tuesday, as her sister expressed hope she will be found safely.

Kingsbury’s sister said Monday that she was still determined to find the mom of two, who disappeared after dropping off her children, ages 5 and 2, at daycare with their father in Winona, Minn., on March 31.

“We love her — and Maddi, we’re going to find you,” her sister Megan said on ABC’s “Good Morning America” a day before Winona cops were set to issue an update in the case, according to KAAL-TV.

Father of missing woman's children issues statement: 'I did not have anything to do with Maddi’s disappearance'

WINONA, Minn — Adam Fravel, the father of 26-year-old missing Winona woman Madeline Kingsbury's children, was the last known person to see her.
On March 31, Fravel and Kingsbury dropped their two kids off at daycare in Maddi's minivan. Winona police say Fravel told them he and Maddi drove home, Fravel left alone in the van, and Maddi was gone when he returned later that day.

It is unclear where Fravel and Kingsbury's relationship stood at the time she disappeared.
In a statement released by his attorney, Fravel insists he had nothing to do with Maddi's disappearance, but has dealt with a "myriad of accusations."
The full statement reads:

"Over the course of the last 12 days, my family and I have been subject to a myriad of accusations regarding the disappearance of the mother of my children, Maddi Kingsbury. During these last 12 days, I have cooperated with law enforcement at every turn, including sitting down for multiple interviews with Winona County law enforcement. I did not have anything to do with Maddi’s disappearance. I want the mother of my 5-year-old and 2-year-old to be found and brought home safely. I want that more than anything. Law enforcement advised me on April 2nd that they would not recommend that I attend the press conferences or that I assist in the searches due to safety concerns. However, my non-attendance and silence has been inferred by many as a sign of apathy, or worse. That could not be further from the truth. I want Maddi home and for her to be able to be with our two children. God Bless the Kingsbury family and please bring her home safely."

Dad of missing mom Madeline Kingsbury’s kids allegedly refused to turn them over to officials

The father of missing Minnesota mom Madeline Kingsbury’s children allegedly was uncooperative and yelled profanities when officials arrived to pick the kids up because he did not have custodial rights.

Adam Fravel did not allow social workers to get to the kids, ages 5 and 2, at a relative’s home, where they tried to place a 72-hour hold on them five days after their mom vanished, KTTC reported, citing court documents.

At one point, the irate dad shouted expletives, took the younger child inside, and locked the door, according to the April 4 petition for protective services.

Fravel eventually gave in and allowed the officials to take custody of the children after he called his attorney, the news outlet reported.

Winona County District Judge Mary Leahy later ordered that the children remain in custody, the Star Tribune reported.

Father of Madeline Kingsbury's children not speaking to missing woman's family

The father of Madeline Kingsbury's children has not spoken to the missing Minnesota woman's family since her "involuntary" disappearance more than three weeks ago, her family told Fox News Digital.

Winona, Minnesota, police have not publicly said there is a suspect, but Chief Tom Williams said her disappearance is "suspicious" and "involuntary."

Fravel's lawyer, Zach Bauer, did not immediately respond to an email for comment.

Meanwhile, law enforcement have been tightlipped about their search and investigation, even with Kingsbury's family, outside periodic updates in short, vague press releases.

The most recent update was Monday night, when Winona police said they continued "to conduct targeted searches for Maddi, based on information generated by the investigation and tips from the public."

Jacobson said law enforcement emphasized searches along the Mississippi River and nearby waters because the river rises about 3 feet every spring, which could wash away potential evidence.

I'm so hoping he's just posing with someone else's plane? So they can at least have closure when she's found? Yeah, so not the case, huh? I wonder why that smug piece of shit would even be dumb enough to admit he was the last person she saw.

The lack of contractions in his statement do show signs of dishonesty. I learned that at 18. There's no way this college educated, lawyer hiring asshole isn't aware of that. He probably thinks he's untouchable.

That said, I hope and pray that enough evidence IS found to convict him, so he very much gets "touched", day in, day out. Why don't these idiots take acting classes, they're usually not believable in the least.

Search for missing Minnesota mom Madeline Kingsbury intensifies as special prosecutor hired

A highly respected special prosecutor has been brought out of retirement to help in the search for Madeline Kingsbury, the Minnesota mom who’s been missing for nearly eight weeks.

Investigators confirmed to Fox News Digital that they’re working with Phil Prokopowicz, the former chief deputy attorney in Dakota County whom one source called “arguably one of the best in the business.”

The special prosecutor — who retired in 2019 — is helping the nearby Winona County Attorney’s Office as a huge search remains underway over the 26-year-old mom’s “suspicious” disappearance on March 31.

The missing mom’s family is also in the middle of a bitter custody battle over her two young kids with their dad, Adam Fravel, who was the last person to see her alive.

Fravel has denied having anything to do with Kingsbury’s disappearance and has not been charged in the case.

Somber cops confirm Madeline Kingsbury’s remains as sister calls arrest of ex ‘silver lining’

Minnesota police confirmed they found missing mom Madeline Kingsbury’s remains, which led to the arrest of her ex-boyfriend and father of her children on suspicion of murder Wednesday night.

Winona Police Chief Tom Williams said the remains were found in a wooded area off Highway 43 north of Mabel, Minnesota — about 45 miles south of where Kingsbury, 26, was last seen alive after dropping off her two kids at daycare with her ex, Adam Fravel, 29.

“This discovery is not what we were hoping for, but we’re glad we can bring Maddy home to her family,” Williams said in a press conference Thursday, where Kingsbury’s loved ones could be heard sobbing.

Police said a trove of digital evidence, including cell phone and computer records, led them to the site where the body was “covered and concealed,” bringing an end to the 69 day-long search for Kingsbury.

The Southern Minnesota Regional Medical Examiner’s Office is continuing the autopsy to confirm the cause of death, with Williams noting that the police had enough evidence to arrest Fravel on probable cause.

Adam Fravel was sentenced to life in prison on Tuesday for the murder of Madeline Kingsbury in southern Minnesota early last year.
Fravel was found guilty of first-degree murder last month, a little more than a year and a half after Kingsbury’s body was found. A life sentence without the possibility for release is the default sentence for such a conviction.
“The sentence in this case will reflect the seriousness of your crime and will ensure justice for Maddi and her family,” Winona County District Judge Nancy Buytendorp said, addressing Fravel. “It will be a clear reminder that actions do have consequences and that violence like this will not be tolerated.”
Fravel briefly addressed the court before Buytendorp read his sentence: “I never caused harm to Maddi, and I am innocent. Thank you.”

If you have to clarify that something is "just a joke" you're either incredibly shitty at joking, or you're full of shit. And when you're a provenly abusive ex partner making a joke about murdering your ex for not doing what you want, it's ALWAYS the second possibility.

Do these folks think they won’t get caught?? Do they not read the news?? Do they not know about forensic evidence, and how difficult it is to beat it?? He’s ruined the lives of his innocent children, his wife and her family!! Did he really think that this was going to work? Or did he just not think at all!

He didn't think any further than what he wanted her to do, because if he'd thought about it any time at all he'd have known that the first thing he had to do was smash that damn phone, tho with all the texting and stuff they'd have gotten him anyway. People are at their stupidest when they think they are the smartest.
