Lumberton police Capt. Terry Parker tells news outlets that witnesses described a man with a yellow bandana over his face grabbing Hania Noleia Aguilar from a yard in the Rosewood Mobile Home Park just before 7 a.m. Monday.

Hania Noelia Aguilar is approximately 5 feet tall weighing 126 pounds. She has long black hair, brown eyes, and braces. She was last seen wearing a blue shirt with a flower pattern and blue jeans.

Parker says Aguilar was forced into a stolen green 2002 SUV with South Carolina license plates.

Police are looking for Aguilar and the stolen vehicle.

Anyone with information is asked to call Lumberton police at 910-671-3845 or call 911 or HP.

Witnesses say an unknown male grabbed Hania Noleia Aguilar, who was standing in the yard, and forced her into a green 2002 Ford Expedition that is registered to Velasquez Hernandez of Summerville, S.C.

Aguilar’s little sister, Heylin Perez, was in the house at the time and saw what happened.

“Out of nowhere the man came in and they took her away. She fell and screamed and we couldn’t hear what she told us and then we went over there and we didn’t know what happened," Perez said.

According to information from the FBI, the paint on the vehicle’s hood is peeling and there is a Clemson sticker on the rear window.

Witnesses say the vehicle was last seen leaving the mobile home park. The registration number on the plate on the truck is: SC NWS 984.

The report says that witnesses can‘t describe the suspect other than he had a yellow bandana over his face.

After grabbing the child, he reportedly forced her into the Green Ford Expedition, stole it and drove away.

This should be over somewhat quickly since they have the car and plate info. Those police license plate readers are no joke!

Since the vehicle was stolen, I assume it was taken to use specifically for this. But I wonder if it was planned for this specific little girl or if the plan was only to take any girl.

I could be very wrong, but I feel like the average random kidnapper may use some cunning & just cover all potential evidence, but the way this happened, there were a lot of unnecessary risks that could have been easily avoided by waiting to find a victim in more isolated circumstances.

So it sounds like this guy was specifically planning on getting this girl. Hopefully that means he will not kill her & cops have time to find her safe

Authorities said the photo shows the SUV wanted in connection with the kidnapping of 13-year-old Hania Noelia Aguilar. The FBI announced on Tuesday that they were offering a $15,000 reward for anyone who can provide information that leads to the location of Aguilar.

The witness said a man dressed in all black wearing a yellow bandana around his face forced Hania into a relative's vehicle that was parked in the driveway and took off.

The car is a green 2002 Ford Expedition with the SC license plate NWS-984. The paint on the hood is peeling, and there is a Clemson sticker in the rear view window.

According to the FBI, after uncovering the photo of the SUV, they're now asking anyone in Lumberton with a video surveillance system to save the video and call the tip line at 910-272-5871.

If you see the suspect vehicle, or have any potential information on Hania's whereabouts, you are asked to the the Lumberton Police Department or 911.

He just knew the vehicle would have the keys in it???
Hmmm

Not sure about SC but in CA you see a lot of May/Dec romances in the hispanic community that would not be allowed in US culture but seemed to be accepted in their homeland.

Older guy probably told to stay away from her so he took her. Sounds like he was familiar with the family setup.

That's my guess anyways. Hope she's ok.

Took them a while, but they finally answered some of the questions people had about this

Officials say Aguilar was waiting for a ride to school outside her home at 3525 Elizabethtown Road in the Rosewood Mobile Home Park when someone forced her into her family’s SUV, which was already running.

Also a few other things in the article that I hadnt heard prior. There's something off about this all. The police and the mother are asking people to stop spreading rumors. The mothers statement implies people are essentially accusing her of either milking it or having something to do with it. The police statement is even weirder as they mention a tip that was for a potential sighting in there statement about not spreading rumors.

Weirder still is that it took them almost 2 weeks to search her neighborhood and the neighborhood where the vehicle was found.

FBI: Man charged in kidnapping, death of North Carolina teen

LUMBERTON, N.C. – Police have arrested and charged a man with killing a 13-year-old girl who was kidnapped last month from a North Carolina mobile home park.

The FBI said early Saturday that Michael Ray McLellan has been charged in connection with the kidnapping and murder of Hania Noelia Aguilar. The announcement comes the same day that a memorial service for Aguilar is set to take place at a local high school.

The 34-year-old McLellan faces first-degree murder, rape and eight other felony charges. He'd been released from prison in June and was still on parole from a 2017 felony breaking and entering conviction, according to the News & Observer of Raleigh...

Two North Carolina sheriff’s deputies have been suspended for not following up on evidence linking a 2016 rape to a released felon now accused in the death of a teenage girl.

News outlets report the Robeson County Sheriff’s Office announced Friday that Maj. Anthony Thompson and Sgt. Darryl McPhatter were suspended pending an internal investigation.

District Attorney Johnson Britt said deputies didn’t follow up after DNA evidence from the 2016 rape matched 34-year-old Michael Ray McLellan. Only after McLellan’s DNA was again found, this time in a vehicle involved in Hania Aguilar’s kidnapping, did authorities connect the cases.

Wow, that's shocking. Rarely come across officers fired for ineptitude.

Wonder why they didnt follow up. Pure laziness?

Southern hick sheriffs and sherriff deputies are the most ignorant, worse people in america

Dead girls family should have grounds for a lawsuit now i would think.

Rape kits are not a priority.

Which is why we get all these stories about rape kits not being tested, just sitting with nothing being done. Sounds like the rape kit was actually tested though and the evidence was there, the idiot cops just didnt do anything with it.
