A Gainesville woman allegedly sat on her daughter and hit her repeatedly in the face, causing a ruptured eardrum, according to authorities.
Amberlee Nicole Dowis, 29, was charged with aggravated battery and misdemeanor battery under the Family Violence Act. She was booked Monday, April 8, in to the Hall County Jail.
Hall County Sheriff’s Office Lt. Scott Ware said Dowis beat her 11-year-old daughter March 30 “causing injuries which included a ruptured eardrum, which required medical attention.”
“Dowis sat on the child and struck her repeatedly on the body and face,” Ware wrote in an email.
“The child is safe, recovering from her injuries and in (the) custody of relatives,” Ware wrote.
