Fewer than three weeks after a Boca Raton woman died from an alleged attack by a man delivering a new washer and dryer, another deliveryman has been arrested and accused of cornering and molesting a woman at her apartment near Greenacres, records show.
About two hours after the alleged sexual assault, the 23-year-old woman tearfully called 911 to report it.
“I was in the room with the guy and he cornered me,” she told the dispatcher.
The woman, whose name was redacted from arrest reports from the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office, described how a deliveryman wearing a red shirt with the name “Richard” on it had exposed himself and put his hands under her clothes, records show.
The woman had just signed the lease on her new apartment three days before and had been awaiting delivery of a loveseat, sofa, queen-size mattress and box spring from City Furniture.
When two deliverymen showed up, she engaged in a bit of back-and-forth banter with the one wearing the “Richard” shirt. He took photos of the furniture they had delivered. His co-worker presumably had gone back to their vehicle, an arrest report said.
Their exchange went like this, according to the Sheriff’s Office:
“If she were him," she told the man, "she would quit his delivery job because it was so hot out.”
“If I quit my job are you going to take care of me?” he said.
“Jokingly," she pointed to the extra bedroom.
“No,” he said. "That’s your daughter’s room. I’m going to sleep in your room with you.”
They next stepped into the bedroom so he could photograph the new bed.
Because the woman had ordered it online, she hadn’t had a chance to test the mattress out, she told investigators.
So, she laid down with her feet dangling off the side.
“Oh, can we fit on here together?” the deliveryman asked and got on top of her.

Richard Omar Fisher, 45, was arrested Aug. 31.
In the meantime, the woman had a sexual assault exam, she identified “Richard” from a photo lineup and detectives obtained Fisher’s DNA, tested it and found it could not be excluded from a sample they had collected from the woman, a sheriff’s report said.
Fisher, of Miramar, was charged with sexual assault and battery and was taken to jail. He pleaded not guilty, posted $20,000 bond after spending fewer than eight hours there and was released Sunday from the Palm Beach County jail, records show.
Another recent assault blamed on a deliveryman in Boca Raton triggered public fears of whom we should trust and invite into our homes.
That violent attack on Evy Udell on Aug. 20 resulted in her death a day later.

State records show Fisher was arrested once before, in 2005 by Miramar police, but the domestic violence charge against him was dismissed.
In the recent case, the young woman who reported the sexual assault told detectives she tried to pull away, said “no” numerous times, as well as “No, no I don’t want to do this.”
She was able to make Fisher back off by alluding that they could continue “later," a police report said. Fisher washed his hands, wished her “a blessed day” and left, according to the report. All the while, the woman’s autistic 3-year-old daughter was crying in the other room, the report said.
