"The threats were made, according to police, on Monday evening when Cory Fraser contacted a former classmate at Wayne State University who he had not spoken to since the spring 2018 semester.
During the course of text messages and a phone call, the female classmate noted that Fraser became very upset, stating that Wayne State, Roseville and Warren police were prejudicial toward him and "went after" him.
The woman told police she tried to calm Fraser down with little success. Toward the end of the 20 minute phone conversation, Fraser allegedly declared that he wanted to shoot or poison officers from the different departments.
He also allegedly told the woman that the recent shooting in Philadelphia made him mad, as the shooter only harmed six police officers. Fraser then allegedly stated he was going to shoot 200 officers.
"The specific reference to another tragic mass shooting in our nation and the desire to inflict a greater deal of harm to our local law enforcement is chilling," Macomb County Prosecutor Eric Smith said in a statement. "This former classmate should be commended for her swift action, contacting the authorities regarding these very disturbing and dangerous threats."
Wayne State Police, working with St. Clair Shores Police Department and a multi-jurisdictional Special Operations Task Force, were able to apprehend Fraser around 8 p.m. Wednesday. He is expected to be arraigned Thursday afternoon on a charge of false threat of terrorism, a 20-year felony."
