Yet again, dear Demonites, we have another of our "Florida Man™" episodes to present for your entertainment, proper punishment opinions, and some sweet Dreamin' Demon schadenfreude.

Our subject is 41-year-old Richard Seepersad, who thought it'd be uber lulzy to call in to the Merritt Island Walmart and threaten to "shoot up" the exclusive customers within the fine establishment, on the day after the El Paso, TX mass shooting at a Walmart, and on the same day as the Dayton, OH mass shootings.

The local Detectives had little effort tracing the call back to his cell phone, and when initially questioned he naturally went with the cover story that he'd been at a gas station, and had loaned a teenager his phone while he went inside the station for a cup of coffee.
Because it's perfectly normal to hand your $100.00-$1000.00 cell phone to some rando teen and then walk off for a cuppa java, amiright?

Welp, as you can guess, that lame blame story went *poof* after local LE checked the gas station's security cameras where Seepersad claimed this encounter took place, and neither he, nor any teenager were found on the surveillance video at all during the time of the call.

After permitting authorities to search his phone, they found searches for nearby Walmart stores that occurred approximately one minute before the threatening hoax call was placed. The detectives working on the case believe Seepersad's intent was to "frighten store employees and customers" with the terrifying hoax call.

Seepersad has now been charged with: making a false report of a shooting and unlawful use of a two-way communication device, and is currently being held at the Brevard County Jail without bond.

Am I the only one who surprised that they're not also throwing "making terroristic threats" on him for good measure?
