The Magee Police Department announced the arrests of Desserae Vaugn and Joseph Lexia on Wednesday.

The two are charged with child abuse and neglect, along with possession of controlled substances and possession of paraphernalia, and three counts of animal cruelty.

The Attorney General’s office is investigating the death of an infant who was in their care as a homicide.
