Kim Johnston, 46, faces charges of driving under the influence with serious bodily injury to another person following the collision around 1:15 a.m. Sunday. Johnston is expected to appear in court Monday and could face upgraded charges in the wake of the passenger's death.

Johnston was allegedly intoxicated while she was driving on Interstate 95 in St. Johns County when she collided with a vehicle carrying Jacksonville sheriff’s bailiff Cathy Adams, 43, her husband, police officer William Adams, 50, and their two children, ages 14 and 16, Action News Jax reported.

The vehicle overturned and the sheriff’s bailiff was ejected, police said.

The family of four was rushed to the hospital where Cathy Adams was pronounced dead, Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office said. William Adams remained in critical condition as of Sunday night, while the teens suffered minor injuries.

It's always the wrong one who dies, although I would've been fine with her being badly maimed and suffering the rest of her pathetic life.

Filthy, fucking piss-tank ..

That charge is bullshit. Vehicular assault and manslaughter should be the charges. There is a family that is destroyed by this stupid bitch.

Kim Johnston was sentenced to 15 years in prison for the death of Adams by a judge. She was sentenced to five years for the second count of DUI causing serious bodily injury. Both sentences will run at the same time. Johnston is getting credit for 335 days of time served. Driving will be revoked for the remainder of Johnston’s life, according to the judge.
Cathy Adams was with her husband William “Jack” Adams, a Jacksonville Sheriff Officer, and their children traveling north on I-95 in St. Johns County, nearly a year ago, when Johnston’s car collided with them.
