Steely Dan founder Donald Fagen was charged Tuesday with assaulting his wife at their home, according to law enforcement officials and court papers.
The 67-year-old lead singer is accused of shoving Libby Titus into a marble window frame, knocking her to the ground, on Monday at their Manhattan apartment. The assault caused the 68-year-old Titus to "suffer bruising and swelling to her right arm, as well as substantial pain," a criminal complaint says.
The two officials were not authorized to disclose the victim's name and spoke to The Associated Press on the condition of anonymity.
Fagen was charged with misdemeanor assault and harassment. His publicist and his lawyer had no comment.
