Police on Tuesday asked for the public’s help to identify the person who witnesses say hurled two kittens from a vehicle, leaving one cat hit by a car.
The brutal act was reported Saturday around 8 p.m. near Route 70 and Massachusetts Avenue in Toms River, according to authorities. Witnesses told police a passenger riding in an older model, faded red Nissan Pathfinder threw two kittens onto the busy roadway.
A witness snapped a photo of the surviving cat, but that feline managed to escape and run off into a wooded-area, according to police.
Earlier this month, police in Galloway said they were investigating a similar report of someone tossing kittens from a moving car in the Atlantic County township.
The Pathfinder reportedly also black roof racks. Police asked anyone with information or witnessed the cruelty to call Toms River detectives at 732-349-0150 x1263.
