A Wausau baby sitter linked to an infant's death last week is being held on a $250,000 cash bond in another case where she is accused of injuring a child in her care.

Marissa Tietsort was arrested after a 2-month-old boy was found unresponsive, according to a press release from the Wausau Police Department. The infant's mother had just picked up her child from the baby sitter's home minutes before. The mother contacted police, who determined with preliminary information that the child had died in Tietsort's care.

According to the criminal complaint in the child abuse case, police were called Aug. 2 to Aspirus Wausau Hospital, where an 11-month-old child's father reported that he believed Tietsort injured the toddler while baby-sitting. She told the father that the child had fallen off the couch while sleeping, which resulted in injuries to the face. Doctors told the father that the injuries were not consistent with a fall from that height, the complaint said. The parents of the girl decided to press charges, the complaint said.

As they were investigating that case, police learned that Tietsort had been reported for child abuse in June 2017, when an infant was taken to the hospital with a bruised face and skull fracture. Tietsort told investigators that the infant's older sister had tried to take the bottle away from Tietsort while she fed him. She told police the bottle struck the infant, which caused the injury, according to court documents.

Police then learned that four of Tietsort's children had been removed from her care and that social services was not aware that she had another infant of her own, the records said.

Tietsort's boyfriend in 2010 had also filed for temporary restraining orders after he told investigators she was abusing their two sons.

Police determined that the latest case, from last week, was a homicide based on preliminary results from an autopsy conducted Friday in Madison, according to a press release.

I wonder how many other kids received more minor injuries while in her care that were put down to the regular bumps and bruises of childhood.

According to court documents, the child's cause of death was blunt force head injuries. The boy also had a fractured tailbone. Court document state the tailbone was broken off and displaced-- indicating a significant amount of force was used.

During an interview with police, cited in court documents, Tietsort confirmed the child died in her care, but stated she did not kill him.

Tietsort said she knew the baby had died, but still put him in his snowsuit and car seat, pulling his hat over his eyes, so his mother would not know when she picked him up. She said she did not reach out for help or perform any resuscitation efforts. Tietsort, her boyfriend, the boy's brother and Tietsort's own child then went to a restaurant to eat. Tietsort said when the boy's mom came to pick up her children she knowingly let the woman take home a deceased child.

What a sick cunt.

That is above and beyond fucked up. There is something not clicking in that bitches head... oh and the fact she has no soul. Thinking about how she's going to order a Cheeseburger and Fries after mom picks up her dead baby.

I'm wondering if she's like a serial killer... only she prefers babies.

From Daily Mail: "Tietsort has sought a bail reduction twice, and has claimed she's not getting proper prenatal care."

Like she really gives a shit. That baby wouldn't receive proper post-natal care if it was left up to her! Vicious baby killer bitch.

Just came across this

I just posted a copy of the letter she sent to the judge. This cunt thinks she deserves to lay around at home with an ankle bracelet until her trial starts.

The criminal case against a Wausau baby sitter accused of killing an infant she was watching and then trying to hide his death from his mother will continue.

Marissa Tietsort, 28, appeared Friday in Marathon County Circuit Court, where Judge LaMont Jacobson determined there was enough evidence to proceed with the case. Tietsort faces a charge of first-degree intentional homicide.

During an interview with police, Tietsort admitted she knew the infant had died but said she did not kill him, according to the complaint. She told police she laid the baby face down in a playpen and when she came back to check on him, he was not breathing, Wausau Police Cpt. Benjamin Graham testified in court Friday.

An autopsy found the baby died from blunt-force trauma to the head, and his death was ruled a homicide.

Tietsort remains in the Marathon County Jail and is pregnant with her sixth child. A future court date has not been set.

The criminal case against a baby sitter accused of killing one infant and abusing another will continue.

Marissa Tietsort, 29, of Wausau, pleaded not guilty Monday in Marathon County court to first-degree intentional homicide and child abuse.

Prosecutors say a 2-month-old boy died in Tietsort's care from blunt-force injuries to his head, according to a criminal complaint. In October, the boy's mother dropped him off at Tietsort's home before going to work and realized he was dead shortly after picking him up.

Tietsort later confessed the boy died in her care but said she did not kill him, according to the complaint. Instead of calling for help after realizing he was dead, she dressed him in his snowsuit, pulled a hat down over his eyes, sat him in his car seat and took him along on a trip to McDonald's. Tietsort did not tell the boy's mom what happened and then went swimming with her boyfriend and their own baby son, the complaint states.

Tietsort remains in the Marathon County Jail on a $750,000 bond. If convicted of homicide, she could face up to life in prison.

Marathon County prosecutors declined to file charges against Wausau baby sitter Marissa Tietsort for causing a skull fracture to a 3-month-old boy, and exactly a year later another infant boy died in her care.

Until now, it had been unclear why she avoided charges in the first case. She wasn't charged with abuse until after a baby girl in her care suffered a head injury last fall, and two months later she was also charged with killing the baby boy.

In an interview with the USA TODAY NETWORK-Wisconsin, Wausau Police Lt. Bill Kolb and Detective Jennifer Holz said officers were unable to prove Tietsort abused the 3-month-old in 2017, even though doctors believed Tietsort lied about the cause of the baby's injuries.

Kolb and Holz said they are still satisfied with the department's investigation into the 3-month-old boy's injuries, despite what would happen a year later — that Tietsort would, according to prosecutors and police, kill a 2-month-old boy while she was watching him and instead of calling for help, pretend he was still alive by dressing the infant in his snowsuit, pulling a hat down over his eyes and buckling him into his car seat and then giving him back to his mother without saying a word.

Kolb said the department holds "no ill will" toward the District Attorney's Office for declining to charge Tietsort the first time.

Marissa Tietsort pled no contest for killing a child she was caring for in 2019, then returning the baby to his parents without telling them he had died.

An autopsy showed the child had suffered three separate blunt-force injuries to the head.

Tietsort had been facing charges of child abuse and first-degree reckless homicide. As part of a plea deal, the latter was lowered to intentional homicide. The deal also avoids a jury trial in the case.

The 31-year-old mother of five was jailed on bond while also pregnant with her 6th child.

A former babysitter convicted of killing a 2-month-boy and hurting an 11-month-old girl was sentenced to 40 years in prison.

Marissa M. Tietsort, 31, will spend 37 years in prison for the death of Benson and three years for hurting the baby girl.

Judge LaMont Jacobson said the families of the two babies were justified in considering Tietsort a monster.
“What you have done to these two families is depraved,” Jacobson said.
Tietsort apologized to the two families. She said Oct. 18, 2018 — the day she killed Benson, put him in his snowsuit and cap, and gave him back to his mother without saying anything — was the worst day of her life.

Tietsort said, if she could go back to that day, she would have told Benson’s mother what happened. She didn’t deserve to find out herself at a laundromat, Tietsort said.
Jacobson said Oct. 18, 2018, may have been a bad day for Tietsort, but it was the worst day for Benson.

“It was the day he died,” Jacobson said.

Jacobson ordered the two sentences to be served consecutively to each other. He ordered Tietsort to spend 20 years on extended supervision after she gets out of prison.
According to the criminal complaint, Tietsort did not call police when the 2-month-old boy she was babysitting died in her care on Oct. 18, 2018. Instead, prosecutors accuse Tietsort of dressing him up in a snowsuit and taking him to McDonald's before giving him back to his mother without telling her he died.
When the mother picked up her children from Tietsort a few hours before, the baby's hat was pulled down over his eyes, and the mother thought he was sleeping, according to the complaint. When she arrived at a laundromat, she discovered he wasn't breathing.
An autopsy showed the infant suffered multiple injuries to his head and a broken tailbone, according to the complaint.

In an unrelated case, Tietsort was babysitting an 11-month-old girl in August 2018 when the baby suffered injuries to her face that looked like rug burns, according to the complaint. Tietsort said the girl hurt herself falling off a couch, but doctors told police the injuries, though superficial, were not the kind that come from such a fall.

"...37 years in prison for the death of Benson and three years for hurting the baby girl."
"Jacobson ordered the two sentences to be served consecutively to each other. He ordered Tietsort to spend 20 years on extended supervision after she gets out of prison."

Hope she dies in prison.

Nowhere near enough. She beat the baby to death, and handed poor bubs to his mom. She did this to pin the aggravated child abuse on the parents. "The baby was already fucked up when Mom dropped it off!" BULLFUCKINSHIT. Given that she's abused her own kids, and 2 more cuties that she was supposed to care for, no one would believe that. My heart sank when I saw wittle Riley's face. I hope the other moms torture you in there, bitch.

After she killed that baby and handed him to his mother she went swimming.

I am so glad the judge did not fall for her bullshit and fake remorse.

That poor mother. I can’t even imagine checking on my baby in a laundromat and he’s dead. And the effing sitter didn’t say a word. How was she even babysitting with that record? The prosecutor who declined to press charges when she hurt the first child has blood on his or her hands. And she’s smiling in her mugshot! WTF?
