WAUWATOSA, WI — Authorities in Wauwatosa say a 28-year-old Milwaukee man has been arrested and charged after he fought a Wauwatosa Police officer and pounded on the windshield of a woman's car while she was driving it.
Authorities say it all began after the couple got into an argument over the man being five minutes late in picking up their children.
According to a criminal complaint filed in Milwaukee County, Terrion C. Taylor has been arrested and charged with disorderly conduct, and resisting an officer - causing injury.
Authorities say an officer was on patrol on Oct. 2 just after 5:30 p.m. when he saw a man - later identified as Taylor - kneeling on the hood of a woman's car and punching the windshield as she was driving the car along W. Hampton Ave.
Police said Taylor and the woman inside live together and have two children between them, and that an argument escalated after Taylor was five minutes late to pick up the children that day.
According to the criminal complaint, the police officer attempted to get Taylor to stop trying to get inside the vehicle, which the woman locked from the inside.
Police say the officer grabbed Taylor's arm to pull him away from the car, but he tensed up, and prepared for a fight.
Police reports indicated that the officer tried taking Taylor to the ground, but he slipped the officer's grip, jumped up from the ground, and charged the officer in an attempt to tackle him.
According to the criminal complaint, Taylor then started punching the officer while trying to grab at his gun and other equipment on his belt. The officer was eventually able to put Taylor into handcuffs and helped him stand up.
