Death, horror, torture
Not much remains of Mystery Man's hiking ensemble: a faded canvas jacket dripping dirt and pine needles; a button-down shirt that might have been greenish once; a duffel bag, maybe green, with "Hollywood Park" emblazoned on the side.

A silver digital watch sat beside the jacket on a table at the Contra Costa Coroner's Bureau. Not much remained of his tattered jeans, coroner's Sgt. Bryan Reynolds explained. And investigators tastefully omitted the worn leather shoes, ankle-high, and containing remnants of their owner.

But Contra Costa County investigators really hoped that people would focus on the face, rendered with unusual precision in clay atop John Doe's skull, and displayed Thursday for regional media.

Do you know him?

Hollywood Park is a casino. While I'm not well versed on casinogoers I would think that they would rather spend their cash in a manner of losing it via gambling, not buying casino swag.
I tried your link Mom of 3 but something something security tag something meant I couldn't read it.

Please tell me they've checked with the casino and asked about employees who dropped off the radar in an abrupt manner right around that time

Casino's give away stuff like that too-I've worked in the business quite awhile-one year the Christmas "gifts" for the employees included a gym bag with water bottles and towels (all with casino logos etc.) it was a different casino but in Southern California also-maybe the duffel bag was a gym bag-If I remember right they came in green and black.

In my last post I was mentioning the gym bag I received from the casino just as an afterthought-thinking Hollywood Park might have given them to customers as a promotion (which I still think is most likely) but knowing how the casino I worked at never had an original thought perhaps Hollywood Park gave them out as Christmas gifts too.

If they did I can't imagine the police wouldn't have been told, they must have checked about the bag. (I hope)

Hollywood Park also has horse racing.
