What Booker is proposing here is actually a great idea... I don't give a shit how poor you are, when you have a kid, open an investment account for them. Put it in index funds, then deposit $20 a week into it. Let the free market and the magic of compound interest do it's work. Do the numbers and you'll be surprised at the advantage that they will have in 20ish years.... But parents should be doing it, not the government. This is just more leftist 'give people free stuff' mentality, one more fiscal liability. Ain't no such thing as free stuff. Unless you are Acasio-Cortez, then 38 Trillion will appear if only you gave away more.
