Numerous sex abuse and child pornography charges have been filed against a woman who worked at a daycare center in Salisbury.

Court documents show that 18-year-old Roseberline Turenne worked at Stepping Stones Early Learning Center. According to court records, an employee noticed Turenne looking at photos of young girls' private parts on her phone. The daycare immediately called authorities to report the incident.

Investigators questioned Turenne, who they say eventually admitted to taking the photos on the daycare's diaper changing table.

Court documents show the young girls appeared to range in age from birth to 4 years of age. No faces were shown in the photos.

The manager of Stepping Stones, Barbara Brittingham, told WBOC that this is not an incident the daycare is hiding. She said the business wants to make sure the investigation is done correctly and that Turenne is charged to the fullest extent of the law.

According to to Brittingham, Turenne worked at the daycare for at least two years.
Turenne allegedly told police that the photos were sent to her on the WhatsApp phone app and denied any allegations of taking the photos.

After officials observed a red mat on one changing table that matched the color of one of the changing mats in the photograph, Turenne then reportedly admitted to taking the photos at the daycare and that the children in the photos attended the facility. She did not provide a reason for taking the photos.

It was also noted in the court documents that the pictures in question on Turenne’s phone did not display the children’s faces and were focused on the vaginal area in each photograph. Each photo observed contained only one child and the children were not wearing any clothes.

Turenne’s phone was seized on scene and will be forensically examined. She is currently being held without bond on a total of 18 charges, including multiple counts each of possession of child pornography and sex abuse of a minor.

I'm curious if this is her kink, or as what @Kitsune Faye said, and she did it for a dude. I think that'd be worse to me. If it's her kink, then she's got issues and I feel a smidge of compassion, because probably born that way. But if she did it for a dude, that's chilling, and so is she.
I don't give a GOOD GODDAMN if this was her kink, personally. It's disgusting. (This rant wasn't towards you hun.)

Doesn’t matter who it was for or whether or not they were born that way. You do the crime you deserve the time. I hope she doesn’t see daylight for at least 20 years and is closely monitored after that.

A jury found a former Salisbury daycare worker guilty Wednesday of multiple charges related to child sexual abuse.

19-year-old Roseberline Turenne was convicted of eight counts each of sexual abuse of a minor, manufacturing of child pornography and possession of child pornography.

The Wicomico County State's Attorney's Office said images of eight children younger than age 3 with their private parts exposed were discovered on Turenne's phone in June 2021.
Investigators determined she took the photos while she was responsible for the children's supervision at a Salisbury daycare.

Turenne's sentencing has been deferred to allow for a mandatory pre-sentence investigation and mental health evaluation to be completed.

Happy to be wrong

Roseberline Turenne was sentenced to two-hundred and eighty (280) years, with one-hundred and twenty-six years (126) years of active incarceration.

Following Turenne’s incarceration, she will be placed on five (5) years of probation under specialized sexual offender supervision as well as lifetime supervision. Turenne will also be required to register as a sex offender for the remainder of her life.
On March 30, 2022, after a two-day jury trial, Roseberline Turenne was convicted of eight (8) counts of Sexual Abuse of a Minor, eight (8) counts of Manufacturing of Child Pornography, and eight (8) counts of Possession of Child Pornography.

The offenses occurred between December 2020 and June 2021. During that time, Defendant was employed as an aid and/or assistant at a daycare center located in Salisbury, Maryland. In June 2021, images of eight (8) minors under the age of three (3) with their private parts exposed were discovered on the Defendant’s phone. The pictures were identified as having been taken by the Defendant while she was responsible for the supervision of those minors at the daycare center.

So being bisexual makes pedophilia not as bad? Interesting interpretation of risk assessment. Now I want to have someone go through that Justice's electronics and see what's what.

Here was her excuse for the taking the pictures.

At her jury trial, Ms. Turenne testified that the reason she took the photos had nothing to do with sexual gratification. Rather, she told the jury, she took the photos to document diaper rashes that she saw on each of the children. The jury found Ms. Turenne guilty on all counts. The Appellate Court of Maryland affirmed Ms. Turenne’s convictions.

In his opening statement, Ms. Turenne’s attorney told the jury that they would see pictures of children with “rashes in their private parts” and “with diaper cream on.” He further stated that Ms. Turenne took the photos in question because she was “afraid of being accused of any kind of rashes that she wasn’t taking care of, she wasn’t wiping.”

I think it would have escalated to actual sexual abuse of these girls if she was not caught.

The appeal goes into detail about the pictures.

Nice try. Maybe if she were a medical professional (dermatologist) and was supposed to take such photos, but that's a BS excuse for why a random caregiver has photos of genitals.
