Sgt. R.D. Crouch with the Sebastian County Sheriff’s Office while on a narcotics investigation at a local McDonalds walked right past Carl Ashworth, who was leaving the restaurant. Minutes later he received a description and realized Ashworth was the man he was looking for.
Sgt. Crouch could see Ashworth walking away, so he approached and asked him to stop. The man continued walking and then broke into a run. Meth, not being Red Bull, didn't carry him very far and he gave up in the drive-thru at a Regions Bank.
It turns out he wasn't really running away because of the small amount of meth in his pocket. It was the outstanding warrants he was really worried about.
He was arrested for the warrants, fleeing, and possession of methamphetamine, an arrest report states and is being held at the Sebastian County Detention Center on a $1,200 bond.
