19-year-old man charged with sodomizing 5-month-old

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - A 19-year-old Smithville man is facing a first-degree felony sodomy charge in connection with an incident at a home on Commercial Avenue earlier this month.

Brent R Porter faces 10 years in prison if convicted.

According to court documents, Porter was in a room with the victim when the child's mother heard screaming. When the mother entered the room, she got Porter off of the victim, court documents said.

The victim was taken to Children's Mercy Hospital for an exam.

When police questioned Porter, he told them about also being investigated for child pornography, court documents said.
