The boyfriend of a Clay County woman, pleaded guilty to charges in the death of the women's 9-month-old daughter and was sentenced to 22 years in prison.

Mathew Hamrysky pleaded guilty to charges of aggravated manslaughter and aggravated child neglect in the death of 9-month old Charli May Smith

According to detectives, Hamrysky was watching Charli May and her 2-year-old sister on Feb. 4 at the InTown Suites in Orange Park while the girls' mother, Ashley Smith, worked at Captain D's.

Hamrysky called Smith about 7:15 p.m. to tell her that Charli May wasn't breathing. He never called 911, authorities said.

Smith walked back to the room and called 911 at 7:36 p.m. when she found Charli May still unresponsive.

Newly-released video of an interview sheds light on the aftermath of a 9-month-old girl's death in Clay County.

Reports revealed that Charli had fallen off a couch three days prior and hit her head. Reports said Charli had at least 10 bruises and marks on her body at the time of her death. Some of her injuries were recent, and she also had bleeding on her brain.

Hamrysky was arrested for aggravated manslaughter of a child and child neglect with great bodily harm in September 2016.

Newly released interviews of the Charli's caregivers after she died from her injuries reveal Hamrysky blamed her injuries on her 2-year-old sister.

In police interviews Hamrysky tells detectives little Charli’s sister hit her over the head with a toy, but police told him it was impossible for a 2-year-old to cause such serious injuries.

Detectives tell Hamrysky that Charli's autopsy will reveal the truth. A Clay County detective told Hamrysky they believe he lost his cool and shook the baby.

Hamrysky denied it. Hamrysky did admit to dropping the child in her bassinet, demonstrating for police with a baby doll how he did it.
