Police are searching for the person who shot a family’s cat with a pellet gun Sunday, paralyzing the animal from the hind legs down.
A 57-year-old man brought his cat to Swansea Veterinary Hospital Sunday evening after discovering the animal was bleeding from a wound on its side, according to Detective John Robinson.
An X-ray taken of the cat’s torso showed what appeared to be a pellet lodged in the cat’s spine, Robinson said.
The cat, named Bella, was paralyzed from its rear legs down, said Robinson. Police suspect the cat was shot between 3 and 5 p.m. Sunday.
